vin diesel becomes a contract killer: the game

This game is VERY fun if you're fine with an RPG that goes for plenty of realism. The atmosphere of the game is pretty and immersive, there are lots of characters to meet and things to do. The combat is really fun and fleshed out, many mechanics and things to learns about it.
Most of that gets overshadowed by bad things at times, however.
Bugs are abundant, you'll encounter lots of them, some even game breaking. Many mechanics end up being tedious, you need an item to be able to save and that item makes you drunk (which can be either positive or negative) and the survival aspects tend to get in the way at times. Bows are hard to aim and there's lots of grinding to get your skills to where you want them. You'll find yourself getting stuck quite a bit in bushes and other things along with some other odd bugs while traveling. Texture pop-in breaks the immersion ALL THE TIME by taking MINUTES to load in textures that are right next to you. Performance can get weird at times, but it's negligible.
Probably the worst thing for me is the AI being broken, I'll give a personal experience to tell you why: I knocked out the armorer in rattay and stole his keys so i could break into his shop the following night. I wait until midnight and break in, nobody is around so I'm in the clear. He has a little room at the back of his shop that he keeps his items in. As i break into that room i hear a guard yelling from outside. He breaks through both doors with the might of an oblivion guard and starts yelling at me to leave, despite me wearing 0 noise clothing inside of a shop with no windows and making sure to be completely undetected. I run out of the shop and my game crashes, corrupting my save.
Stuff like that happens pretty often, the AI is really bad.

Overall this game is REALLY fun but awfully buggy and broken. If you're looking for a great RPG and dont care about the bugs, get this game, you'll love it to death.

i killed joseph stalin and his entire red army in 60 minutes while playing as al capone with the help of a redneck, fat shaquille o'neal, and a low-poly ps1 model.

what an absolute masterpiece

NMS is a universe you can put yourself into to relieve stress, look at pretty things, and get out of the real world for a bit.
This game has it's flaws, of course, but in my eyes the real beauty of this game comes from exploring procedurally generated worlds in a near-infinite universe, finding oddities that nobody else has. There's something very special about that and i don't know how to explain it.

There are MANY improvements that could be made, here's a list of some

1. Planet's don't generate realistically, a flaming planet could be far away from the star's skybox while a frozen planet could be so much closer to it. big thanks to the steam forums for helping with the facts on this one

2. The story is very bland.

3. Tutorials could be done a little bit better.

4. There are LOTS of bugs.

etc.

If you're gonna buy this game, keep all this in mind. It's not a game to enjoy the story or meet your friends and do things with them, it's a marvel of technology worth gawking at.

If you're expecting a big simulator that you're free to explore, take it with a grain of salt. There's plenty of things that are realistic in NMS, but most things are so procedurally generated that it ruins what could've been realistic (see fix #1 for an example)

Overall 7/10, it's amazing that they managed to get this thing working, and it's absolutely amazing to look at and imagine. There's not much else to it, though, as it lacks severely in every aspect that isn't exploration.
