This version of the game on Steam requires a downgrade mod to restore licensed songs, optional PS2 mods to restore missing effects and artifacts from the original release, crashes multiple times at random with no meaning behind them, and has many frustrating missions with zero checkpoints.

With all that being said, I still would rather play this version than ever play "The Definitive Edition."

My personal favorite in the series; Robert Atkin Downes performance as the emo Prince is what really propels the edgy mid-2000s dialogue that teeters on the edge of cringe. Top-tier level design, grooving rock tracks, and a consistent thick feeling of tension on the Island of Time all blend together to make a "standalone," experience within the Prince of Persia series, as well as Ubisoft's career.

The pre-Assassin's Creed battle system for the most part still holds up, as the difference between AC and PoP is PoP allows for more movement based combat. It still has the same trademark Ubisoft jank, but it's overall more enjoyable than the Sands of Time combat is.

Whether or not Warrior Within is the best in the series is up for debate, but Ubisoft was definitely on some other ♥♥♥♥ when they came up with this one, and I've always been up for it.

More boring than the first game. I kept hearing people hype up Handsome Jack as this big bad villain for years before I played the game, then when you finally get to his boss battle he doesn't even get a proper cutscene. Not sure what people see in this series, but more power to them.

Fun to play and still has that X factor 10 years after release, biggest complaint is the price; the remaster is not worth $40. I paid $7.50 for the original Prepare to Pie edition in 2013, then I paid $20 for this version (still a bit much).

I would replay the original Psychonauts over and over when I was a kid younger than Raz. I remember thinking the game was so unique, so original, and so addictive.

I never imagined that game from so long ago getting a sequel this many years later; this game was a fever dream.

Psychonauts 2 picks up right where Rhombus of Ruin left off (which I didn't play, but the story takes place a few days after 1), bringing back the memorable voices that most of us remember from 2005. It was a surreal experience seeing this game in motion at first; everything in it's right place, as if time didn't even pass. What time DID change was the gameplay, cause damn. Movement is so tight and fluid, animations are quick and pretty to look at. Every PSI power feels like it was built for combat, there's so many different combinations of combos you could pull off. The different scenery in the minds you travel to are genius. From the trailers, I wasn't so sure about the direction of the story with Raz' family at first, but they turned out to be a great addition to the story (even if there is little character development).

The game's biggest problem is that there is no proper way to track figments, which is strange because the first game had a grid system. It also has some loose ends in the story that are only explained if you explore the game after the credits.

Psychonauts 2 will most likely be my personal Game of the Year 2021, only slightly edging out It Takes Two (and do I mean VERY slight). Worth the wait for longtime fans and satisfying to play even if you're new to the series. Glad I spent $60 on this.

Thank you, Double Fine.

Final Fantasy X is a contender for my favorite game of all time, and this PC port is the best way to experience the game for new players and old fans. The main reason for this is the inclusion of the speed booster and no encounter booster, which eliminates the tedium of grinding. For the ultimate experience, download the Untitled Project X mod so you can have shared experience among your party members, it makes the game flow much smoother (and you won't have to grind). When I was younger and had all the time in the world, grinding wasn't really that big of a deal to me. Now that I'm working and maintaining a life, it can be annoying.

As for Final Fantasy X-2, I just finished my first real, non-action replay playthrough of the game, and I gotta say that it's much better of a game than I remembered. The tonal shift from X to X-2 initially caught me off guard back then, but looking at it now, it does have a certain charm and feel to it. It doesn't play anything like FFX, but it doesn't try to be. The speed/no encounter boosters also played a huge part in my likeness for the game. Took me 35 hours to beat X-2, but without the boosters, it probably would've been like 80 or something.

My biggest complaint about X-2 is that to get the "perfect ending," you have to get 100% completion. Sounds reasonable on paper, but when you have to worry about stupidly annoying, small details like playing levels in a specific order, or talking to certain NPCs within the 2 minute window you have to talk to them, it's just dumb. You also have to get all your party members to level 99 so you can beat the superboss that has 1M HP at the end of a 100 floor dungeon just to see the "perfect ending," a.k.a. the 3 minute mediocre cutscene you unlock after putting in 200 hours of work just to see it. So yeah, I played with a guide, got 90% completion, and I was perfectly satisfied with the happy ending. Just look up that other ending on YouTube like the rest of us.

Whatever you do, don't click on the "Credits and Bonus Audio," option in the launcher. The "bonus audio," it's talking about is some 20 minute garbage fanfiction written by one of the writers of the FF series. Sin comes back and Yuna breaks up with Tidus. Fu***** dumb.

In my first playthrough of the game on PS4 in 2018, the moment I knew this game was special was when I heard D'Angelo's voice singing through my speakers for the first time in years. This man has released three albums in almost 30 years, then randomly appears at a pivotal moment in a video game where I would've never expected it. I was going crazy with disbelief.

That moment made this more than a game for me, absolute brilliance.

A game that transports you to another world, where you don't just play in Inaba, you live in it. A place where you make digital friends, and a place where the music transcends the source material, making you think everything's gonna be alright (or some sh.it like that).

Forreal though, the game is near perfect. Persona 5 is more accessible, and a little more visually appealing, but I think P4 makes up for it with the story. I might be biased because I played 4 before 5, but I like the characters in this one better too.

Just buy it already.

Great game, Hazelight has come a long way from Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (which I reviewed negatively). A Way Out was leagues better, but still a bit rough around the edges. It Takes Two has some of the best game design to come out within the last 10 years, the game is oozing creativity and innovation. There are many moments that made me say, "I don't think I've ever seen this in a video game before."

With each new gameplay element the developers introduce, there was always that worry in the back of my mind: "is my ability gonna be as fun to use as my partners?" I'm happy to say that that moment never came where there was a "bad" section for either player, and the devs do a fantastic job of balancing out the co op abilities where one power doesn't really feel "better" than the other. They also managed to turn infamous annoying levels in video games (ice level, underwater level) into actual fun tasks to complete.

The game sits at about 15 hours, but we had so much fun with it, it felt much shorter. A must buy for this year and many years to come. Grab your significant other, closest friend, hell, even your mom, I guarantee you'll have a blast playing this game with anybody.
