I had to reload the first *real* boss battle after I beat it. The intro and the music kicking in was just TOO good.

Edit: Holy crap, they fixed it! Now, if I could only redeem my pre-order stuff...

Key remapping is a joke. Remapping my jump key to "shift" makes it so I can't use my sprint. Tried some fixes but, nothing seemed to work. I know I'm not the only person with this issue. I've been powering through but, it's getting hard to really enjoy this game when I'm constantly jumping off ledges accidentally. The game IS fun, don't get me wrong. But, this is really becoming a serious thorn in my side. I'll happily change the review if it's fixed.

Game is only in alpha, and I've sunk around 25 hours into it over a couple weeks. A great game to zone out with if you like management stuff. Looks like there's still plenty more to come.

I've experience a few crashes, and graphical glitches. That's to be expected, though. Some elements of the game were confusing at first, especially with storage management, and combat. It was easy to figure out with some Google searches, though.

The only gripe I have is not being able to un-equip weapons from my characters. I've yet to find a simple answer for that and, I'm sure it'll be addressed quickly.

My enjoyment for this game comes purely from nostalgia. Period. I wouldn't expect newcomers to this game to get drawn in at all, much less play it through to the end.

If I hadn't played the original dozens of times through, I would not care for this game at all. Removing the rose-tinted glasses shows a janky combat system, an incredibly straightforward story, "updated" music that somehow manages to make a great soundtrack sound like absolute garbage, and a spell system where 90 percent of its contents are pretty much useless.

However, the developers pulled off the feeling of playing the original game flawlessly. For all of it's shortcomings, the combat sections play nearly identical to the original Secret Of Mana (magic spam, and all), even with 360 degrees of movement. The story is still full of cheesy and endearing lines from the original, and the new dialogue they added before resting at an inn fits very well with the soul of the original game.

The only bug (.....Feature? I don't know, the devs don't seem to be concerned with fixing it) I've encountered in the game was if you had any extra controllers plugged in the game would automatically assign your other two party members to them. There were even times I only had ONE controller plugged in and, the game would assign a party member to my keyboard as a second player. It seemed to fix itself eventually and, no, there were no updates to the game at the time I was experiencing this issue. No clue how it got fixed; I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

All I can say about the remade music score... Whoever wrote/recorded it should apologize. It may just be my rosy glasses covering my face again but, the new tracks just suck. Every new area I entered, I made it a point to play at least a few minutes with the updated tracks. Every time, I was just flabbergasted about how off the mark the artist was. Flutes were replaced with accordions, downbeats were changed, entire moods were killed. The new soundtrack is awful. Stick with the original.

All in all, I recommend this game because I loved the original. It was nice to play the original with a graphical update, and extra dialogue. That's really all it is. No more, no less.

Supports Valve Index just fine. Only people having issues are using Knuckles with other headsets. I'm sure that is going to be fixed in the first patch.

Game is fun. Some issues with movement (mainly crouching). Buy it if you want the best zombie-killing experience to date.

It succeeds as a true spiritual successor to Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night. Enjoyable for the old fans, as well as newcomers. Graphics aren't groundbreaking. Story is fun, if a little standard. The music is cool (albeit, a little cheesy for my taste sometimes). The gameplay is solid as hell.

There are dozens upon dozens of weapons to choose from. A lot of them have similar attacks for their type but, there are TONS of unique weapons with their own play styles.

The map is huge, intuitive, and a completionist's dream. Not using a guide, I can easily predict 20-30 hours on your first *FULL* playthrough (hint hint at different endings).

Do not buy this game if you aren't into side-scrollers. That's it. That is the only reason I could think of someone not enjoying this game.

It's alpha. It looks like ♥♥♥♥. It plays like ♥♥♥♥. Its optimization is ♥♥♥♥. It's what made Postal 2 not ♥♥♥♥. Right now, it's only for fans of Postal 2. Don't buy it in it's current state unless you're willing to love it for what it is. For me, I love it. If you've never played any of the Postal games, steer clear, and buy it for $10, or less.
