Ozzy Furocity is an Australian, furry friendly and fun loving gaming community based around Team Fortress 2 aimed at providing everyone an enjoyable and relaxing place to socialise with other like minded people. We are one of the most popular (independent) TF2 gaming communities in Australia, supported by our dedicated staff and regulars we rely purely on donations from our players.

Servers Updated...and there was much rejoycing

Sorry about the guys, I was enjoying a nice Saturday sleep-in and auto update hasn't been updated for SteamPipe just yet. Valve seem to love releasing updates at 4 AM Australian time.

The servers have now been updated, albeit 6 hours late. The good news is that Valve have implemented a fix for the stuttering issue that has been plaguing the Source Engine since SteamPipe. Time will tell if it works.

So jump on your favourite OzFur server and help us test!

One Night Only: Uber Hales!

Jokes aside. The SteamPipe migration has been relatively harmless. We're still working on a couple of the US-W servers but all other servers have been updated accordingly.

The only inadvertant effect is that because we are using a fresh install of the TF2 Dedicated server, the Internal Hale Statistics have been erased. The plugin uses these to determine the health multiplier of individual bosses. So if you're playing VSH today or tomorrow and you see some funky hales with over 80,000 HP you now know why. Just play the round as normal and it will balance itself in due time.

@ImBlu Well for starters we don’t explicitly allow porn sprays. It’s not stated anywhere on our group page or rules that “Yes you can spray porn!”….Rather, what is stated is that like all servers, mature sprays may appear from time to time and what you can do as a player to avoid any unwanted offence. The reason we do this is because we cannot predict what people will spray nor take it back once they have sprayed it. Sure, we could ban people for spraying that kind of content but it wouldn’t change the fact that at some point in time there was mature content on the servers (despite that not necessarily being the intention), so banning people post-fact is completely superfluous really. What can be done is players can take the initiative to self-moderate what they want to see, by disabling sprays if they want a mostly PG experience and we try our best to inform them of how to achieve this. If you need help disabling in-game sprays please don't hesititate to ask.

@ღBarnabyღ: We're looking into that with Valve. Since the SteamPipe conversion ALL servers have been experiancing this lag/stutter issue (except for the small number which have put off converting). I've requested an update from Valve to see where they are at. If they fail to give me a satisfactory response, we'll convert back to the pre-steampipe version until they resolve all outstanding issues.

@serogen Autobalance is an essential part of maintaining a fair game. However it only works if autobalanced players accept the need for the balance and dont attempt to rejoin their old team straight away. For this reason, our autobalance will block team changes for recently autobalanced players for a short duration. If you try to stack the teams during that time, the duration is extended. No apologies from me or anyone for this.
