  • Mod is tested only in Singleplayer and Dedicated Server. However, Multiplayer & COOP is not 100% stable.
  • This mod works as intended as of 41.73.
  • Mod is still in active development, so expect updates.
  • There may be some little bugs here and there. But the mod works! If it doesn't, you either have a mod conflict or you're doing something wrong.

Added persistent fog sandbox option

Features
  • Highly customizable experience through Sandbox Options!
  • Adds periods of darkness in Knox County that could go on for days!
  • Adds ambient sirens and spooked crows that go off to warn of an imminent Darkness Event in handpicked locations in the map!
  • Optionally add permanent fog even when there's no darkness (off by default)
  • Sirens are completely modular. You can easily add sirens to other maps if you know a bit of modding. Current map support included with this mod is: Raven Creek, Eerie Country and Slocan Lake.
  • Zombie lore can be changed when the Darkness Event comes!
  • Experimental "Heavy fog" that appears thicker than normal in-game fog!
  • The Darkness Event can also affect vehicles! They might become a bit unreliable during darkness.
  • Use the Automated Emergency Broadcast System to get warnings of the Darkness Event, hours before the actual event happens. There's a version that's also compatible with Save Our Station!

Lore
"The Darkness Is Coming!" became a popular cry for help, with whoever is still alive to experience this supernatural event.
Parts of the world started experiencing periods of total darkness.
Black clouds would cover the skies.
Clouds thick enough that they block completely block out the sun!
The air would turn foul.
An unexplained, and sometimes hazardous, thick fog would also set in.
Scientists started recommending the use of gas masks to stop this anomalous atmospheric matter from invading human bodies.
But unfortunately they couldn't find any scientific reasoning behind these events, leading everyone to believe that this event is of a supernatural nature.
They did come up with a warning system that could detect traces of this anomalous matter.
Authorities set up a number of sensor and sirens to warn everyone about this hazardous phenomenon.
A year later, the Knox Event happened. These are truly the end times.
Access to the Automated Emergency Broadcast System became essential to survival.

I've been having an issue lately, did 3 solo worlds with this mod and after I've survived for about 30 days or so the event glitches out, the sirens no longer play, no fog appears, zombies don't turn into sprinters but the world still goes dark & I kept playing in those worlds thinking it would sort itself out by the next event but things stayed the same sadly, I don't have any mods that effect weather or zombie behavior so IDK what the problem could be :(

Would love for there to be an optional feature where the fog harms you almost like gas.

@Carbonated Orange Cheese Gravry - This right here, the fog just appears suddenly. Even if it could be delayed until the sirens get towards the end, it'd make a big improvement.

I love this mod but lately the actual event won't trigger after the sirens go off and I have no idea where to start about fixing it
