It only affect the planets listed in the description.
Bad Decisions Apr 9 @ 9:18am
how does this interact (if at all) with extra planets?
Olaof Jan 10 @ 4:21am
thanks :)
enenra  [author] Jan 10 @ 3:16am
yes ice spawns on asteroids
Olaof Jan 10 @ 2:02am
Because i want to get into orbit but i don't know if i should take ice or hydrogen with me
Olaof Jan 10 @ 1:53am
Does ice spawn on asteroids?
Lex Foxo Nov 19, 2024 @ 5:14pm
how do you find magnesium on earth?
xwerswoodx Nov 6, 2024 @ 9:33pm
Ah thank you so much, I was looking this type of mod for a long time. You did it nearly as I wished!
Noble_MMXXV Oct 27, 2024 @ 12:53pm
Thanks. I will give that one a look!
enenra  [author] Oct 26, 2024 @ 12:00am
No, there is no customization. But there are mods that let you customize where each ore appears, such as https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2973891097&searchtext=custom+ore

I'm playing on a save that doesn't have an "alien" planet. Is there a way to for me to reassign an ore to another planet?
Royal_Gargoyle May 23, 2024 @ 2:24pm
thank your for the prompt response. I will check it out.

Do you not have an improved ore detector mod that works with this? I've tried several "improved range" ore detectors but I consistently get a bug(?) where the ore deposit lables remain visualized on my hud whether or not the ore detector is on, whether or not the antenna is on, and whether or not the hand drill is equipped. Point being, I see the yellow ore deposit indicators all the time regardless of whether I should or not.
enenra  [author] Mar 24, 2024 @ 2:25am
All existing voxels (visible ones) stay the same, and all the ones that have not yet been revealed change back to vanilla settings.
Konstance™ <Chaos> Mar 23, 2024 @ 8:03pm
What happens if the mod is remove midsession?
FantazeR Mar 22, 2024 @ 4:52pm
Sometimes seismic surveying doesn't work properly, so I can see only half of the ores surrounding me, this stuff appears only with 500km planets
So sometimes there are these small ore deposits around the main, big ore, I've tested your mod with bigger planets around 6 months ago and thought they were incompatible, thought these small parts of the main deposits are vanilla ore that's not modded
anyway, tysm for your work and help!
enenra  [author] Mar 22, 2024 @ 1:55am
The size of the planet doesn't matter for this mod. As long as it's a vanilla planet it will work. Ores are defined as "starting from x meters below surface" so while proportionally they will be higher up due to the planet itself being bigger, I'd say that it's a good thing in this case because having them too deep makes things unnecessarily tedious.
FantazeR Mar 21, 2024 @ 3:32pm
Is there a way to generate a planet with deeper ores? im using biggerplanets plugin so i want my planets to be bigger than vanilla
is it possible? i already know that spawned planets will have vanilla ores
Freedom16789 Feb 23, 2024 @ 2:15pm
like i said i stop using this mod for now as it seem like its not working right for me. No matter what i have tried so thanks for the help.
Kodaxmax Feb 23, 2024 @ 2:01pm
You said you were using vanilla detector. Make sure whatever mode your using doesn't add a seperate mod version of the detector block in game. You also need to alter the the detectors settings in game and ensure it's actually on and the range is turned up. Also not that alot of detector mods make increasing the range cost more energy.
Freedom16789 Feb 23, 2024 @ 1:50pm
i also used the mod you said and it still did not show up on the planet so i dont know i stop using this mod for now.
Kodaxmax Feb 23, 2024 @ 12:44pm
That means you were still only searching up to 400 underground. Enera has told you what to do. Get a mod that extends ore detector range
Freedom16789 Feb 23, 2024 @ 12:28pm
ok i was right click mining at 200 and lower with vanilla detector and did not find any so i dont know what to do about it
enenra  [author] Feb 23, 2024 @ 10:58am
Well yes, cobalt depth starts at 200 or so meters deep, the vanilla detector doesn't go that deep. As I said before, you need a modded ore detector that implements its own detection algorithm. Draygo's Seismic Surveyor is one of them.
Freedom16789 Feb 23, 2024 @ 6:32am
or can i add it to the planet?
Freedom16789 Feb 23, 2024 @ 6:29am
still not fining cobalt when using vanilla detector on triton so i dont know what to do is it on the planet or only on Earthlike?
enenra  [author] Feb 22, 2024 @ 11:08am
If ore detector range is increased significantly above the vanilla values, they break. You'll need to use a mod that implements its own algorithm for longer range ore detection.
Freedom16789 Feb 22, 2024 @ 9:10am
i'm also using and huge range ore detector
Freedom16789 Feb 22, 2024 @ 9:02am
where is cobalt on triton bee looking for 2 hrs and cart find any?
Kodaxmax Feb 15, 2024 @ 10:52pm
really highlights alot of the games weaknesses when you try to do deep mining in near earth gravity. Anyone reccomend any designs?
Mmarss Feb 9, 2024 @ 11:01am
Hi there!

I've just started a new game spawning in on Pertam and this mod doesn't seem to work properly there. All the ores on EarthLike spawn as expected, but on Pertam the large valley around the volcano is full of shallow iron and silicon veins (~20-50m depth, though their size seems right), and the magnesium veins I've found in the lake beds are all at vanilla sizes and depths. I don't have any other mods modifying ores installed.

Here are some GPS markers for verification:

Sounds about right. Thanks for your insights!
enenra  [author] Jan 21, 2024 @ 3:35am
It's absolutely possible to do in a mod. Very straightforward with modadjuster, where you can make this change with just SBC instead of C# like I did with this mod. But it only really makes sense if you know all the planets in a save and which order the player should visit them - then you can make a custom mod for it.
I can't know how the planets are arranged or intended to be visited with this mod, so I can't include mappings for custom planets.
Teamson Jan 21, 2024 @ 3:27am
Any chance we can apply such a distribution to other planets as well?

Tbh i find it quite lacking that in Vanilla you den even need to explore the universe, as you got everything you need at hand.
Parallax9 Sep 10, 2023 @ 8:17am
Idk if this ever asked before.
Could you add a trace amount of gold in Triton and Pertam?
They don't have moons and it's kinda impossible to make one jump drive even with economy on.
There's no reason to visit them since they don't have anything special and also you cannot make them as a starter planet.
richard1701e Sep 10, 2023 @ 1:29am
hi, just wondering if there is a way to make the deposits smaller?? I want it to be a challenge to build an end game ship right there on earth.
enenra  [author] Aug 19, 2023 @ 1:08am
As in, see the ore detector markings or the actual voxels in the world?

Either way, that sounds more like an issue with desync tbh. Could you check if this is still the case on a fresh savegame with this mod installed from the get-go?
DC Aug 19, 2023 @ 12:28am
Hi, we are using your mod in multiplayer and we have found that one of us can see the ores in the ground but the other can't any ideas?
enenra  [author] Jul 30, 2023 @ 12:25am
Yes. All existing voxels (visible ones) stay the same, and all the ones that have not yet been revealed change according to the mod's settings.
Noname Hero Jul 29, 2023 @ 2:47pm
Can this mod be installed on an existing save or do the planets need to be generated with the mod already installed to modify the ore locations?
enenra  [author] Jul 23, 2023 @ 11:05pm
Not really. I would suggest asking in a help channel on the KeenSWH discord.
Mr.Kaplan Jul 23, 2023 @ 8:21pm
Do you have any idea how I could possibly fix it?
enenra  [author] Jul 23, 2023 @ 12:04pm
It's not gonna be this mod. It doesn't contain anything that could cause that. Sounds like some form of desync.
Mr.Kaplan Jul 23, 2023 @ 11:55am
I am having a hard time getting to Gold on the Moon, whenever I get to about 300 - 350 m deep my ship completely glitches out and moves to somewhere halfway between a rock and open space. Not sure if it is this mod or another.
FantazeR Jul 4, 2023 @ 8:58am
For a PvP server with drills limit on a single ship it's actually pretty balanced, high risk high gain
enenra  [author] Jul 3, 2023 @ 11:13pm
It's partially intended to be that way because I'm also thinking about it from a more PvP point of view: Less but bigger ore mines means that there are actually points of interest to attack. Ofc that would ideally also come with less overall ore deposits but in turn it would be necessary to improve the means of finding them etc. which then turns into a much bigger project than I wanted to tackle with this.
FantazeR Jul 3, 2023 @ 6:14pm
i think the ore deposits are too huge, i'm not that type of a player to build a giant miner with a thousand drills on it, i'd like to spend a lot more time to build cool shafts, but even by spending a LOT of time on building shafts i get too much ore, if you build a platinum shaft(for example), you won't ever need to find another ore deposit, you can mine a single one for decades, i like the idea of deep and big ores, but not THAT big.
Used configurable parameters to lower the density of each ore.
9/10 with lowered density, best ore distribution mod
5/10 standalone, too op for me, i like to investigate for ores, build shafts and spend time on thinking about building them(probably just having too much spare time xd), i'd probably choose Scarce Resources/Procedurally Generated Ore over this mod
Great solution - inscreasing ore spread like in scarce resources, it makes mining a bit more fun and decreases the overall size of the ore deposit
Ty for creating this :griefer:
enenra  [author] Jun 25, 2023 @ 1:53pm
Again, that is not how any of this works. My mod literally is incapable of changing ore spots because I do not touch those files. Ore spots are defined entirely separately from the actual ore entries and you can have ore spots wherever you want, independent of the ore location.
