Oh man, those fizzler maps are not my cup of tea :-/
I wouldn't call this easy, I was just lucky to get out within six minutes :steamhappy:

@AtomicRocket that is so lovely to hear! I've had cases of a puzzle I played and solved, then played again a couple years later and forgot the solution so had to solve it again. It's so neat that it's happening to one of my maps now. Thanks so much for playing again ^w^

I already solved this map seven years ago, but then I forgot how, so I solved it again today!

@Teo glad you liked it and thought it was cute ^w^

@lfairban Thanks for playing and for the compliment :p2cube:
It is in my opinion my easiest puzzle that I've still got published. I like sending this puzzle to friends of mine who have never played any Portal other than the main story. It's a good one for that :)

Great puzzle. Not easy but not incredibly hard.

@quaternary Thanks for playing! this is definitely one of my oldest maps, when I was much less experienced in designing them, so it suffers a bit from that. Glad you liked how the solution came together at least :)

figured i'd play some of your back catalog - maybe this one didn't age super well (these antlines are pretty oof, lol, and the central area is very small) but I liked the way the solution came together at the end

my thought process - the flip-up panel means the laser cube can't be on the middle button, so it has to be on the edge with the regular cube in the middle; but I can't do that right away, so I need to put the laser cube in the middle first to help the regular cube get there

Great logic puzzle. Had me stumped for a while; had a break, then solved it in about two minutes.

@LB Thanks very much for the blind playthrough. Glad you enjoyed the map! I enjoyed watching you solve it. This is one of my favourite maps to watch people figure out.

p.s. You can just call me Hazel if you'd like. Some people prefer that over my fancy long name :P

Solved it! I've been back once or twice to puzzle over this...satisfying to finish! Thank you

One room. Love it!

A pretty good example maps doesn't need to be big to be interesting. Excellent work!

I think this is the only time symbols helped me understand how to finish the puzzle. Ususally I am dead set against the idea of symbols unless absolutely called for. I may include this puzzle as an example when symbol usage is OK in my guide!

It seems my paranoia of fizzlers has caught up with me :P I can't believe this one momentarily stumped me and then next time I solve it like it's not even a problem. Nice work (including the 1-block high ceiling, which actually helps avoid visual clutter).

cool

Play this map iq.gobo. It might give you inspiration. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=103811936

I just guessed about the two reflector cubes based on the preview shot. I have still to do my first map in the editor myself, so it might be the default image, I don't know. Thinking about it I am tempted to do one where you have to let a frankencube walk onto a button by itself. I just hope that is possible... ;)
Hazellius  [author] May 20, 2013 @ 10:40am
The was never a second reflector cube iq.gobo. The puzzle has had some changes, but only minor ones to make the puzzle a bit more challenging. The moving panel is one of them. Also, it was my idea all along to make the map 1 block high. I'm not going to change that. It is kind of a cool idea to place one of those fankencubes, but seeing it can be a bit clunky, I'm not sure if I want to.

Loved it. For some reason I thought I had to push all the buttons for the door to open, but I figured it out.
iq.gobo May 20, 2013 @ 7:58am
Heh, I guess the update was about the second reflector cube got turned into a normal one to make it a bit more challenging. Enjoyable easy puzzle, my only gripe is the room to be boringly flat. Could have used some visual distraction and partial higher ceiling or at least turn the non reflector cube into a turret abomination one to make it more lively.
