Description
Welcome to Iron Harvest +



This WW1 themed Space Engineers Scenario is a fully working Real Time Strategy game utilizing mechs in both PVE and PVP.

Fight epic battles by controlling armies of mechs to destroy your opponents!

Dominate the battlefield against your friends or play solo and take on the NPC faction!


Details:

In this scenario, you will be able to choose between 20 unique factions, each with their own units, airships, and preferred battle strategies. (Over 150 different units to choose from!)

You can choose between 7 different maps, each with a unique environment and fully destroyable props and buildings.

Research and build mechs using the built in resource-point-system.

Capture Oil Pumps to increase resource production and make bigger mechs faster!

Command your army and take advantage of enemy weak spots!

Destroy the enemy base to win!


How to Play:

Before you start, make sure you are in creative mode and have all the mods and DLC required (Or have someone that has the DLC.)

When you spawn, there will be some button panels where you can select a team. This will determine who will be your friends or enemies. Anyone in the same team will be friendly, while everyone else will be enemies. Everyone must join a team. DO NOT MAKE YOUR OWN FACTION. (Resource nodes will only give resources to people who are in a team, so anyone not in a team will be at a HUGE disadvantage.)

Select a faction from the faction selection machine at the end of the path (A base should spawn behind you.)

Copy and remove the base from the red block located in between the main building and the mech workshop. (If you do not have the required DLC, ask someone who has the DLC to do this for you)

Paste the base in the corner of one of the maps facing towards the middle. If you copied it correctly - it should be in the ground at the perfect height. (DO NOT move while pasting grids - the grid will move with you until it finishes spawning)

Transfer ownership of the base to yourself and make sure it is set to share with faction. (There is a group in the terminal that simplifies this process.)

Once everyone has done the steps above - The game can start. Build your basic infantry unit to start the base’s resource production.

If no unit spawns, that means that you did not transfer ownership correctly and your base is still owned by nobody. If you run out of points trying to start a match, just respawn a new base and try again.

Once your unit spawns and the amount of resources your base has starts to increase, you can now play the game!

Press T to toggle RTS Mode. From here, you can select and give your units commands. Hold R to rotate and use your scroll wheel to zoom. You can use WASD to pan the camera and move around.

Capture as many Oil pumps as you can to have a tactical advantage over your enemies.

Use your points by pressing the button panels located on your base. The upper button panel is for researching units, while the lower one is for buying new units. The Yellow light means that you have that unit researched while a Green light means you have enough points saved up to purchase this unit.

To win, all you need to do is destroy the enemy base. (If you do enough damage, their base will shut down and stop working.)


Setting up the NPC:

If you want to play against the NPC AI, just do the following:

Copy the NPC base located next to the faction selection machine (Preferably from the red block)

Paste the NPC base in a corner like any other base
Transfer ownership of the NPC to an enemy team

Press the button to start the NPC (It will begin producing resources and randomly selecting units to research or spawn.



Gamemodes:

Aside from the normal deathmatch, you can also try the following:

Team deathmatch (Have more than 1 person per team and work together against the other team)

Capture the Oil (Set a timer - whoever owns the most Oil pumps at the end wins)

King of the Oil (Set a timer - whoever has the most resources at the end wins)


Easter Eggs:

I have hidden multiple secrets throughout the scenario if you are keen enough to find them!

If you solve the secret puzzle, you can even unlock a bonus faction that is extra difficult for anyone that wants a challenge!


Tournaments:

I now have a discord server where I will post information about upcoming tournaments and teasers for updates and new scenarios.

Troubleshooting/Known Issues:

Lag - This scenario is massive and not recommended for low end machines. Expect frame drops during heavy combat. Turn off shadows or lower graphics if needed.

Game freezes while trying to load the scenario - Just restart the game. This usually fixes it. There is a lot of stuff to load in, so lowering the graphics might also help. If the problem still continues, reinstalling the game might fix it (Only do this as a last resort)

Why do the infantry shoot explosives - One of the mods used in this scenario decided to be funny and make all 30mm guns shoot explosive flak instead of normal shots. This does not impact the scenario as the change is purely visual and the damage is exactly the same as it was before.

Units not following my commands - This is a known bug in the RTS mod. It is easy to fix. Just toggle RTS twice and try again. If it still isn’t working, just give the unit a really weird command like going straight up or in the wrong direction. That usually makes them start working again.


Suggestions/ Bugs:

If you find something that is not working as intended, feel free to leave a comment explaining the issue. I will get around to fixing it if needed.

If you think a unit needs a significant buff or nerf for its price, feel free to let me know. I will not be changing any of the unit’s weaponry, but could make changes to range, price, or other factors. (Skill issue is not a valid reason for changing the stats of mechs)

I will not be adding any new factions to the scenario, and I will also not be editing any of the mechs based on historical accuracy or opinion. I might add new mechs in a future update IF necessary for balancing. (I will not be adding any tanks or trucks for obvious reasons)

Can I add my own unit? like I want to add a blueprint Battlecruiser onto the field and command it

The required dlcs are needed to copy-paste the bases for the factions you want to use.

Spawning them doesnt actually need the dlc.

You can just have a friend copy-paste the bases for you.

If you try to copy-paste the bases without the dlc mentioned, it will fall apart and the button panels won't do anything.

new update - This scenario now works with the latest SE update. Lots of fixes have been done to improve gameplay and performance. Hope yall enjoy :D

Unfortunately, scripts do not work on consoles as per Microsoft's terms of service, and this scenario will only function with scripts enabled.

Scripts are needed for walk cycles and for economy systems, so a scriptless version would be near-impossible to create.

Some of the mods used are also exclusive to steam. This includes weaponcore and instant projection, which are vital for allowing things to work.

Another unfortunate development is that the recent update put a hard limit on the max size of multiplayer modded worlds for console - so the combined amount of mods makes it unplayable on consoles, even if it could be ported over
