Hitman for LwotC

Description
The Hitman is a class based on and balanced around the Mod Jam environment. it is usable with base LWotC, but it is not recommended. Any attempt to use this class in vanilla wotc will meet potentially game-breaking bugs, and I will laugh at you if you complain.

Feedback is welcome and appreciated. Please let me know if you encounter any problems and I will do my best to resolve them.

Description:
The Hitman is a stealthy class, carrying only weapons that are easy to conceal, a pistol and a knife, in the event that they need to disappear. Easily able to loose pursuit, the Hitman slips seamlessly into the bustle of street life, just one face in the crowd.

Current perk tree is as follows:

Squaddie:
  • Phantom(This unit is not revealed when the squad is revealed)
  • Knife Fighter(stab an adjacent enemy with your combat knife)
  • Run and Slice(stab an enemy in movement range with your combat knife. Costs 1 AP and does not end the turn. 4-turn cooldown)
  • Shadowborn(enemies have a 33% smaller detection range. +15 aim and crit chance while concealed)
Lance Corporal:
  • Tracking(detect nearby enemies, even without line of sight)
  • Magnum(+10 aim and +1 damage with your pistol)
  • Infighter(+20 dodge against enemies within four tiles)
Corporal:
  • Reconnoiter(throw battlescanners as a free action. Gain a free battlescanner on a four turn cooldown)
  • Disabling Shot(shoot a target for half damage. If the target is hit, stun for two actions. If the target is crit, deal unmodified damage and stun the target for four actions instead.)
  • Gunpoint(stun a target and use them as cover)
Sergeant:
  • Sensor Overlays(all squad members get +10 critical chance against enemies you see)
  • Overkill(+2 damage against enemies at or below half health
  • Shadowstep(this soldier does not trigger reaction fire)
Staff Sergeant:
  • Shadowmelt(knife attack that puts you into concealment if it kills. Resets Run and Slice. 3 turn cooldown.)
  • Assassin(kills with your Pistol against Flanked or Exposed targets grant Concealment)
  • Disarming Strike(stab an adjacent target with your knife, disabling the targets weapon and forcing them to reload. 2-turn cooldown. Resets Run and Slice)
Tech Sergeant:
  • Conceal(activate to enter concealment immediately)
  • Hunter's Instinct(gain +2 damage on ranged flanking attacks)
  • Whirlwind(the first melee attack you land each turn grants a move-only action)
Gunnery Sergeant:
  • Surprise(deal +2 damage while concealed and +1 damage while flanking your target)
  • Shoot Out(shoot at up to six random enemies, possibly hitting the same target twice)
  • Anatomy(gain +15 crit chance and +2 armor pierce on all attacks)
Master Sergeant:
  • Lightfoot(gain +3 mobility. enemies have a 20% smaller detection radius)
  • Fan Fire(fire three shots with your pistol at a target. 4-turn cooldown)
  • Gore(Upon killing an enemy, nearby enemies have a chance to panic depending on this soldier's level, the total damage the attack dealt, and the maximum HP of the enemy killed)
Known Issues:
one perk in the T1 Xcom deck and one perk in the T3 Xcom deck are currently bugged. I have identified the perks themselves(Suppression in T1 and Predator in T3), but cannot seem to fix them. If you roll these perks in your Xcom row, they will not show up. Respeccing your soldier should reroll the Xcom row and fix the problem.

Future Plans:
None Currently

@Heau It is maybe the way i play, but i rather brought any ranger than a lower rank hitman, at higher levels it was pretty dam useful, cause I definitely could not afford to lose concealment, or i should be able to get it back once i lose it, hence the "action economy" almost guaranteed a kill if i got into a pickle at higher force levels when i needed the firepower, i definitely could not afford to bump into a pod of 3 Venators/Riftkeeper or an Ethereal or a Legate unpreapared (aka without spotting them). Like i said, i haven't actually played with the new changes, but being able to get in and beat the shit out of anyone to reconceal was the most fun i had in a while and the best trait of this class for me, unlike the reaper that outright is harder to lose concealment.

@Butifarro, the class was the best scout class in mod jam/ted jam from squaddie up, had the most combat impact among scouts from CPL onward, and became an outright monster at SSGT which made one build trump everything else.

So far I'm liking the change. Wouldn't mind some more melee power at MSGT, but nerfing action econ from quick feet and delaying shadowmelt a bit was overall positive for me.

tl;dr; The update didn't just affect others around them negatively, but many positively too.

thank you for the explanation. I personally don't want the Hitman to be exactly that sort of class, but I do want to maintain part of that fantasy. I'm just unwilling to let it get exactly as powerful as it was. For what it's worth, I am willing to buff the Melee Blender tree, which is what you probably want, I just want to figure out just what needs to be buffed and how.

This is your mod and can do whatever you want, and i can't give you exact reason i would not like it cause i don't have a lwotc campaign running right now, but i still have fond memories of playing with it, and long to be able to play it with CI or amalgamation. But to make such massive changes to an established class that makes it play differently, why not make a new mod at that point? it would be more trouble, but new people will at least see it in the front page.
Anyway, the older i get the, the easier is for me to get annoyed and sound like an entitled prick, even when people rightfully make their own decisions, but when it ends up affecting others around them, even if it comes from the kindness of their hearts, i can't just accept it.

It is just about balance and fun, but balance to what? the base game? and what is fun in xcom 2? the pain of dying to a mere elite trooper? or having badass soldiers manhandling a sectopod prime after months of excruciating struggle just to survive?
8 years after release how many people still play the base game? (this mod in particular is made specifically to be played with a mod). how many people play with enemies beyond what the base game ever even considered possible?.
Your mod was fun because the hitman is very weak at low levels (comparatively), only useful as a scout (for me when my reaper was unavailable), and then can become a killing machine even for FL 20, but depending on your modlist it might not be enough (mine got out of commission regularly even at highest rank).

And I don't care that you don't like the rework. Tell me *why* you don't like the rework, then I'll care.

But now you know.

If it helps, the promotion prompt is on the character, but the prompt cannot be removed by picking any skills. Thanks
