Description
Firstly, thanks to hemeac for the opportunity to finish off this train. The Comeng project began back in May with hemeac creating the main models and putting together most of the textures. Over the last few weeks, I've finished off the motor car and made some other small tweaks to the models and textures to get it ready for the game.


Overview:
The Comeng train, named after its manufacturer Commonwealth Engineering, is operated by Metro Trains Melbourne across the city's electrified suburban rail network. Constructed between 1981 and 1989 to replace the ageing Tait and Harris trains, they remain a common sight on the network, with 558 cars currently operating in 6-car sets.

This variant is the Alstom refurbished life-extension Comeng train. Here's a bit of an explanation of what this means.
  • Between 2000 and 2003, after the suburban network was divided between two operators, the Comeng trains were refurbished by Alstom and EDi Rail based on which operator they belonged to, giving them two distinct front cab appearances and some other interior differences.
  • The Comeng life-extension program is currently taking place, a second refurbishment program with further improvements to the interior and some more visual changes to the front of the train.

The mods listed under Required Items are optional. Additive Shader adds the headlights and rear lights as seen in the screenshots, as well as the front destination board. The two Vehicle Effects mods add some realistic in-game sounds, including authentic Comeng arrival, departure, idle and horn sounds.

Recommended mods:
Loading Screen Mod to enable texture sharing and reduce RAM usage. All carriages share textures.

Additive Shader for the front/rear lights and destination board to appear. Alternatively, use Visibility Control for better performance.

Vehicle Effects and Extra Vehicle Effects for in-game Comeng sound effects.

hey i know it has been a while since you made this but do you have any plans on creating a EDI versian instead of just alstom and having a 6 car mix maybe even a chopper comeng

@Feare, thanks! They only operate in 3 or 6-car configurations in real life, so don't think I'll be releasing a 4-car version sorry.

Hey I love this train! Would it be possible to get a 4-car version of this? I don't know how these trains are set up in rl but I feel like 4 cars would be a perfect fit for most stations.
