Description



Despite being an amazing mod, a Rimworld of Magic felt a little bit empty in the world generation aspect. Mages, fighters and other supehumans were randomly scattered arround without following any pattern and the mod's faction, the Arcane Folder, didn't have anything special to deal with this, acting like any other regular faction. Even the Mage King, supposed to be an amazing pawn with arcane powers, ended up being a wimp bartender, which was quite underwhelming for me.

This mods series are an attemp to add more life and lore to the magic rimworld, including different factions with unique personalities and stories for each individual.

This tiny mod implements many different kind of stuff that I'm going to use in all the Factions Expansion mods such as custom traits, different pawnkinds or vanilla code patches.
If you have not this mod installed, the rest of the Factions Expansion addons will most likely be full of bugs or they won't work at all.
Thanks to this mod you will be able to fully customize your game adding or deleting which Faction you want without having any trouble, otherwise you would need to have them all installed and i didn't like that idea.

# Can I add this mod to an existing save and make the custom factions work?
If you install Orion's Faction Discovery everything should work fine as long as I've tested.

# I have some ideas for a faction, backstories, traits and many other things, how do I suggest them?
The best way to do it is to find me in the AROM discord[discord.gg] where we all can discuss any kind of ideas. I love to read everybody's suggestions, my plan is to make this mod series a community driven project.

# How many factions do you plan to add?
There's not a planned limit as long as I have the motivation!

@sameseungs - are you sure about that? I think the list of classes that can't be picked in the tooltip/hover is so long that it cuts off the description.

For those asking, As far as I can tell this mod is still fully functional with only one little gimmick. It may be my mod list but be advised that using EDB prepare carefully seems to not display the description of the different classes. It shows what classes cannot be picked once selected but nothing else. Aside from that everything else with this mod works both for player faction and AI factions.

@Nekro "Shapiro" Philadelphia I doubt it be working since those mods (this one, A Rimworld of Magic and JecsTools (Unofficial) ) haven't been updated for 1.3 yet (as of 21/08/2021)

@Chrispy had a question about the ShootingAccuracyPawn fix. In the file there is both a bracketed <ShootingAccuracy></ShootingAccuracy> and a list item <li>ShootingAccuracy</li>. Do both need to be changed to ShootingAccuracyPawn? I had it working but moving the mod to local its popped back up again *shrug*

ever since im using this mod my android pawns tend to fail to interact with other pawns..
