Because you obviously dont have a clue what the name of this mod is yet

This mod aims to fulfill the Hearts of Iron IV experience by adding various tools and utilities along with making minor changes to the existing content for improved playability and a more immersive experience.


What is the intention behind Army of Iron?
With Army of Iron I aim to complete the base-game experience while retaining the original feeling and design of the game (read: not a total conversion mod). To me it was important to improve and enhance the basis that Hearts of Iron IV offers while also not turning it into a technical mess/bugfest.
There are many great mods for Hearts of Iron IV that when paired together will not work correctly and cause crashes and bugs, a problem I have solved by creating Army of Iron, combining the changes and features of the base-game and many third-party files to make the gaming experience even better while keeping the error log as clean as possible.
Gameplay-wise I dislike the artifical strength that especially axis powers enjoy over all other nations. My goal is to bring the balance of power more in line with history, meaning the Axis powers will only win if led by an extremely skilled player with superb planning and execution compared to the Allies. Do not expect perfect historical accuracy, that is something HOI4 will never achieve, but do expect economies more closely resembling history.

Major changes by Army of Iron
  • A much more challenging and competent AI thanks to the inclusion of Expert AI
  • Rebalanced warfare
  • Naval bombers and close air support are now a lot less effective, no longer compensating for a total lack of well-trained and well-equipped naval or ground forces
  • Surface vessels now grant a lot more naval supremacy than submarines, making it hard to naval invade enemies that field a strong navy
  • Many minor changes to the defines resulting in more efficient paratroopers, up to 12 support companies, much more devastating nukes, more useful shore bombardment among others
  • Rebalanced industry
  • All countries had their industrial output adjusted, the Axis Powers in general are now a lot weaker, the US is a lot stronger
  • Factories and dockyards are now a lot more expensive and can be constructed with less civilian factories assigned, making long-term planning vital to your war effort
  • Map changes to make gameplay more interesting and less tedious
  • Resources have been rebalanced and overall increased
  • Part of the Dutch East Indies, northern Canada, Siberia are now impassable
  • Added more victory points all across the globe
  • Urbanize and industrialize states based on the State Urbanization Mod
  • An exhaustion mechanic which adds depth to the economy laws and models the effects of a long war on your nation, bringing demobilisation to the table based on the Endsieg Mod
  • New decisions to improve stability and war support or solve other problems that occur
  • A state transfer tool which you can use to trade states between nations or correct a peace conference

Minor changes by Army of Iron
  • Espionage is now more accessible and more useful for everyone as it has lower requirements
  • Updated visuals for a more immersive and practical appearance
  • New icons for most of the equipment in the game
  • National ideas to improve your administration and enjoy some passive buffs

Compatibility and Language Support
The interface has been adjusted to a 2560x1440 display, smaller displays may face some visual inconveniences due to the changes that have been made and the additional scripted GUI.
If you do not have some of the expansion packs enabled there may be other annoyances or errors too.

This mod only supports English. You can play with other languages, but they're not localised so it won't nearly be as immersive.

Compatibility with other mods is extremely limited. Do not attempt to combine this and major conversion mods like Kaiserreich or Road to 56. Mods that add decisions and graphical mods might work but I can't guarantee they do.

@MindSkipperBro12 The mod is based around vanilla focus trees with only minor changes overall. Can you see these changes, for example in the German tree or not at all?

Whenever I try to play this mod, for some reason all of the focusd trees are set to vanilla as well as the decisions and government. I only have this one on and no other mods are active.

@CrossSkull_01 It appears two rather important files got lost in the previous version, they are now back and this should fix the issue. Please report again if it persists.
