I didn't like the game when it first came out because it felt sloppy then. It was on sale for, like, $5 or so and I thought maybe i'll have a different opinion after all this time, it's even sloppier now. Jittery frame rates, crashing at the exact same spot preventing collection in a collect-a-thon, characters talking over each other in cutscenes.. it's just not worth your money. Watch a playthrough on youtube or do yourself a favor and forget this exists instead.

I own this game on two consoles and was extremely excited that I wouldn't have to set them up anymore in favor of buying this. I hope you don't plan to stream it, alt-tabbing will cause it to crash. You'll need patience for the environment puzzles, because you'll have to redo them since the physics don't work in this port. Playing with a controller? memorize the button map in relation to the keyboard's controls because it's the keyboard's prompts during the QTEs.

It was never a perfect game. It didn't always work like it was supposed to, but this is just lazy. Waste your money on something else, unless you're willing to fix what the developers won't.

It really does hurt turning down the better version of Lara, but I can't recommend this.

i really do wish I could recommend the game but I have some problems with it that, in my opinion, don't make it worthwhile.

First, you need to play the game with 3 characters, but the number of characters available isn't divisible by 3. You'll have to play as 2 characters you've already played once you get to the last, which wouldn't be a problem if the game had better replayability.

Second, the lack of non-character specific puzzles make replaying the game kind of annoying. I'm not saying that it needs to be longer, but mixing it up with trade-outs would make it more interesting.

Third, and last, the backtracking needs some serious rework. I wouldn't be as annoyed with it if there was a mechanic that had the other 2 characters follow you or at least warp to you or something to that extent. Needing to replay the same path 2 additional times to get all 3 characters to a place is just not worth the hassle honestly.

i would really like to say it's worth it, but after you burn through the dev created puzzles (which are actually pretty good), you're left with community builds. That wouldn't be a problem if the community was actually good at making puzzles. The majority don't leave good enough clues, such as placing a question mark on a wall and expecting you to solve it from just that. I'd love to see more dev builds, but relying on a community that half-asses it just kinda ruins the experience for me.

It's a fun game, but I encountered a glitch that erased all of my data after beating the game. Low replay value because of that.

As long as you bought the game on sale (50% or more off), there's not many reasons to not buy this just so you can mod it. Most mods for Jill's costume are pretty great and give her an actual skirt though you may have to experiment to find the right one for you. And if you're new to modding, yes you need to buy this for the mods to work as most modding communities legally need to block mods that would otherwise grant you free DLC that others are still paying for.

I've been a fan of the franchise since I played the Director's Cut of the first game at 11 years old, and I've played and bought most of the sequels for the last 20 years. Not to get controversial, but the fans of RE4 and RE2 ('19) are the main reason this game is seen negatively. The action oriented RE4 drove Capcom to believe that was the target audience for the franchise, in turn we got RE5 and 6, both received poorly for being too action focused. RE2 ('19) being praised so highly despite the missing content from the '98 original, doing the same boss fights in the same rooms at the same times no matter the scenario, and not fixing continuity issues within it's own version (boss fights not included in this example), let Capcom think it was okay to cut stuff out, but they were more careful this time.

At the end of the day RE3 ('20) is a linear game that tells a story coherently, while being as action/horror based as the original. Yes it's short, but that's what happens when no one tells creators that they screwed up before it's too late. Buy it on sale and keep your expectations low and you'll have a pretty good time.

I honestly can't even get this game to sign me in to my windows live account which is required to get the game to do anything besides boot up. I want my money back, calling this hot garbage after a family picnic on a summer day is too good for whatever this really is.
