I was going to try to get at least 50 hours to give this a more fair review but the hell with it, I'm done .
The gameplay would otherwise be fun, the graphics are nice, quite the variety of map interactions

The "skillgap" between players is HORRENDOUS , just like in Mordhau, there's two ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ players with a higher score/kda than the entire server combined . I say "skillgap" because I am pretty sure that is more cheating than skill...

It gets to the point where you couldn't even tell if someone is actually a skilled player or hacking, because of the way they move around and hit
Quite often did I see a few players where I thought "There is NO WAY a human being can move this fast"
I say hacking because invidual "duel servers" are mostly just players using flyhack , imagine what else they can get away with ?!

I'll give it this, Unlike Mordhau this game actually tries to explain the controls and a mob surrounding a high level player can actually win, instead of him swooping and walking away with full health , NOT HAVING the simple thing of GAINING HEALTH ON KILL made this game greatly more enjoyable I'll give it that , good job Torn Banner

I'm looking forward to the "lol git gud" comments

The first installment was better as most could agree, but this one was nice too.

Shorter than the first game, some of the later parts get a bit tedious, it's hard to tell what you can click on and where it takes you , but overall this was a nice experience

I'm just glad almost twenty years later I was able to get past that part that appeared in the demo, haha

Like others, I played it as a kid back in the mid 2000s, and twenty years later I came back and finished it , and let me tell you it was quite an experience

This is a marvelous game with a beautiful art-style and lovely music, the puzzles aren't too hard to piece together , definitely a must-play !

Rock and Stone, reader, take a moment to read my review :

In an era of unyielding greed where publishers release half-arsed games with day-one DLCs, an era where graphics are put before gameplay, an era of toxicity where people are just after their high score and shiny cosmetics - comes one of Steam's most underrated games : Deep Rock Galactic ! Yes I dare say Underrated !

A game where you dig ore, and fight bugs . Simple as ? There is plenty of variation, and the developers make sure to periodically add something new to the mix - something new that is not behind any pay-wall or trickery.
The moment you buy the game, there is no need to pay for anything else, unless you want to support the developers and get some tasteful , world-coherent cosmetics

Ghost Ship Games have created a gameplay loop that is simplistic enough to follow , yet compelling enough that it does not get repetitive . Ever been into one of those co-op games where if one person has the wrong item or load-out, everyone loses ? Well not here, all builds are viable - no cookie cutting required, just point at the bug and shoot at it simple as .
These people have put quality and community first and foremost

But the most beautiful thing about this game is one simple thing, one thing that I have never seen in an online game in a long time and never to this extend : Cooperation ! You have never seen a game where strangers will work together and help each other quite like this . It's as if going back to the first days of a MMORPG where everyone is just glad to be there and glad to fulfill their role

In the deep dangerous depths of Hoxxes, you aren't just the employees of a mysterious interplanetary mining corporation, you are not just strangers on a job - you are Brothers

You must have played one of those mmorpgs where you just rush rush rush to the next objective ! Next marker, next checklist, next SHINY - when was the last time you danced and slammed ales with your brothers just for the fun of it ?! Well in this game, that is what you do best
This "silly game about dwarves" has more soul into it than most games released within the last ten years , here in the big cold web you can find friendship .

If you decide to buy this game, be sure to be the dwarf you wish to have at your side ! Here dear reader, you will find friendship.

Be the Dwarf that Karl would approve of !

Only way I could really enjoy this game is by treating it as a dress-up game- with all the pretty armors and weapons you can put on your character, because the actual gameplay is awful - TO ME at least :

There are a lot of "moves" that you can make, which the tutorial FAILS to bloody explain it to you . You see, you can "drag" and "accel" as in make your attack animations be slower, or faster thus allowing you to actually hit your opponent, something that the tutorial DOES NOT MENTION. Why exactly do I need three hours of watching youtube just to get a pretty basic maneuver ?

No one is really playing this game, except most of the time it's just one guy swinging a mallet at the speed of light with a score higher than all the other current online players combined.

As with the other "medieval hand to hand multiplayer games" of this type, players can exploit the animations to achieve unstoppable attacks and easily win . The community of course is heavily divided on this subject, some claiming this is part of the game and to "get good" , others - like me - saying it is COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to be able to swing to abuse this system to swing the heaviest and slowest weapons in the game faster than an average player can swing the fastest

I'd love to "put in the time" to "learn the game dude, it's not hard to tripple feint stab morph to overhead swing wessex drag lmao learn to play lol" but If there's no one else on my skill level than I can't be bothered to try.

Can't wait for Bannerlord to get out of early access, or angry because your favored mod is not working anymore because of the latest patch ? Or maybe you don't want to wait for the awesome warhammer or LOTR mod to come out .

Well you still got Warband, the medieval mercenary simulator . Start the game by getting your arse kicked into the 5th dimension, and slowly gathering strength to conquer the entirety of Calradia, assuming you can count on the butterlords siding with you to stay by your side and not wander off to a feast while 7 Nord armies approach your one castle your king accidentally gave you . Politics, Strategy, Combat, the entire package .

The game may feel a bit wonky at times, that only gives it it's charm . You may also experience some bugs .

The best part is the game is not getting updates , so your favorite mod, which will be many btw, will be unlikely to be destroyed . Once you had fun with the vanilla, or lightly modded game, you can experience the wonders of : Calradia - but reality merged with Dungeons and Dragons, the star wars strategy game we all wanted but never got, Warhammer - totally war , Lord of the Rings where you can play as the bad guy IT'S AS COOL AS IT SOUNDS , a game of thrones where no matter your move is , it won't be as bland and uninspired as season 8, Historically Accurate serious Feudal Japan , and Sugoi kawaii onee-chan weeabo japan . Some mods may get crazy .

Be sure to also support the developer in making the sequel, Bannerlord great .

One of the few games I ever looked forward to and was not disappointed by .

If you ever played the Red Faction series and loved the destructible environment , then this is for you - YES, we are talking about that kind of destructible environment .

The game truly features next gen voxel destruction , I can only hope it raises the standards of the rest of gaming . From bending wooden structures, holes in the wall, entire building collapsing on others destroying them as well , to building entire parkour tracks for yourself out of building pieces .

But it's not all boom and smash, the game features campaign and even player made levels that feature "big brain" heists where you must complete the objective at a (generally) relaxed paced .

And of course, the Steam Workshop has player-made levels and delectable tools that will further your destructive needs.

However with great destruction, comes small frame-rates .
With an i5 6600 and Geforce 1060 3GB I have not experienced any lag in the main campaign, and had to actually "try" to create a big deal of destruction in order to have my framerates go below 50 . Modded tools and maps are especially at risk of being laggy if you try to destroy too much in a single moment .

With a stronger system this might not occur as often, please bear in mind that being early access (not that much of an issue) , and having a game based on physics with intensive voxel destruction and "rendering in a proprietary engine" , even the strongest systems of this gen will not be able to keep up with the sheer maximum destruction that the game is capable of .

I congratulate Tuxedo Labs on their work and wish them good luck with their project.

The best game of it's type . This is what I could describe as a "minecraftian" rpg shooter survival game .
I've seen this game a long time ago under different conditions, I've seen it through many changes, back when you would load 8 shotgun shells from a single shell, lol .
The game today has an rpg system, a lot of weapons with very different playstyles, a detailed city, and it is adjustable for many difficulty levels .

The only downside , which some players addressed is that the game leveling-loot-skilltree changed at one point - I definitely see this happen a few times, which means you could expect the next major upgrade to completely change the way you play the game . Which is something that early access tends to do to any game .
Speaking of early access, it is not very "early" which means you don't have to worry as much about that, more of the previously mentioned point .

Incredibly one-sided battles, dominated by elite players, steep learning curve.
I'll give it that it is unique and interesting, maybe if I had the time to invest in it, it might be fun.
Make sure you bring friends or immediately join a guild or whatever they are calling it , it's boring on your own .

“Novus Inceptio is our dream project and it is more like our baby "
Good grief someone call child protection services in this case !

The game suffers from the same thing most ea survival-crafting-open-world suffers from : Good concept, slow development .
The game plays a lot like Wurm unlimited, where you build from scratch weapons and armors ,unlike that game however the interface here was waaay friendlier and manageable, graphics better, and more intuitive.

However there's hardly any content, the game forces you to sink in hours for the most basic of resources , most of the map has nothing at all in it , just an empty world the occasional objects and "points of interest" .

The lack of updates is a darn shame , I understand game development is hard work, but the lack of new content is sad.

I really hope one day the devs will get into this deep, but I am not holding my breath.
