A game that really feels like a standalone version from some CS or GMod gamemode. It isn't an original idea and was obviously inspired by said mods.

Currently it lacks a lot content and feels like it was published half done. First few rounds are fun, after that it starts getting boring as nothing binds you to the game and everything becomes repetitive. Even the GMod servers bind you more as they have rewards like skins, levels, perks or other stuff when you keep playing.

tl;dr: as it is with many early access games, this game lacks content and needs more polishing.

I'm playing Zero-K since 9 years.

Since the Steam release many things changed.
Most significant change is on the community. It got much more worse. People started to insult each other during or after a game for winning or losing. All insulting and atmosphere aside, trolling doesn't have any boundaries anymore. Also racism has increased a lot, I often see other players insulting based on the country someone is from.

My suggestions:
- Strictly forbid any toxic behaviour and issue much more warns. To achieve this you also need more community moderators.
- Reintroduce non-featured maps in custom rooms *without* passwords. Maybe also in an autohost. The days where people used to play on maps like Duke Nukem, Winnie The Pooh, SpeedMetal etc are gone.
- Remove casual elo as it doesn't make sense when you also have matchmaking elo. At least hide it and only show matchmaking elo.
- Introduce an automatic penalty for abandoning at mid game.
- Ban nukes, strider hub etc again and let them unlock on higher levels. New players only focus on these and don't try to play normal. You can also introduce a time based unlock, e.g. nuke can not be started before 15 minutes after game start...
- On a vote kick let only the own team vote. The other team can not know why someone gets kicked. As kicking gets easier, do not ban them on kick from the host. FIXED
- Fix this vote madness. As soon as a vote ends / fails, another one starts and fails again... FIXED
