I was skeptical at first… but it redeemed itself.

All of my questions and insecurities prior to this game’s release had me very worried about it. I’m really glad that wasn’t the case. I found this game to be very emotionally captivating once the plot starts to sink in.

I would argue that Max has more personality in this game than in any other game in the series (hot take, I know). From hearing her snort while she laughs to getting to see more of her vulnerable side, it made her seem more human and less like a time-warping hero.

Everyone in this game feels human. You can see everyone’s distress and insecurities just by looking at them. Their tones and dialogue come across wonderfully. I even found the plot to be more complex than I would have imagined.

The last section of the game is where I felt it shined the most. It almost makes you realize how much bigger the plot really is, and the events that transpire make you realize how invested you truly were in the story and its characters.

And finally, I would like to say that I personally think the soundtrack of this title is probably the best in the series. It encapsulates each moment so well. It adds more depth to the most immersive and emotionally charged scenes.
