Hello there! There is a war in my country.

Around 05:00 Kyiv time on 24 February, russian missiles strikes began at locations across my country Ukraine, including my hometown Kyiv. Then russian federation started a full scale assault on my country after 8 years of occupying eastern regions with Crimea from 2014.

From 24 February 2022, which marked the start of the large-scale armed attack by the Russian Federation, to September 10, 2023, OHCHR recorded 27,149 civilian casualties in the country: 9,614 killed and 17,535 injured.

Most of the civilian casualties recorded were caused by the use of explosive weapons with a wide impact area, including shelling from heavy artillery and multiple launch rocket systems, and missile and air strikes.

OHCHR believes that the actual figures are considerably higher.
