Had fun for a while, but it's a shell of what it could have been.
#1 - Actively anti-linux/Steam Deck.
# 2 thru 10 - Endless non-stop monetization micro-transactions on top of paid DLC(pick one or the other, not both)

If it's on sale for under $5US, grab it.

It's a super fun rogue-lite dungeon crawler. I love the mechanics of the weapons.

That said, it's also buggy. It was developed by a single developer, so it's a fantastic creation from that respect, but still temper your expectations. I play on a 1070Ti and my friend plays on a 4090, and both of us had to drop down to minimum graphics settings available in game and still after a little while the game just starts slowing down until it's like playing in bullet time, regardless of how strong the computer is until you restart.

Multiplayer took about 15 minutes to get working, eventually after both of us restarted we were able to join.(but it literally says in game multiplayer is beta and restarting the game is the best fix).
BUT, once we were in game together it was a blast. We cleared a dungeon from start to finish, we both got really cool weapons.

If you can get it for a extreme discount, it's a fun VR game.

A must have for all SteamVR logins. If nothing else I use it every time because I forget to switch my audio device(and steams auto-switcher likes to break other things or not remember to switch or switch it back)

I bought this game twice, once for PCVR and once for Quest, and I wish I could refund both of them. OrbusVR was great, and the community was so interesting, and felt like they guided you somewhere.

Orbus Reborn is garbage, the quest "system" is basically non-existent, the community is gone, and the game is completely gutted of what was once fantastic, and now they're trying to sell back to us the pieces that they ripped out.

VR MMO's are the future, but this ain't it.

Updated review: It's still a buggy mess, but they're not game breaking, and the rest of the game is neat. It's still not quite open enough to be minecraft, but not linear enough to be engaging, but the expeditions help with giving you some purpose to be in the universe.

Old review:

They've made massive improvements to the original game.

But it's still a crashing buggy mess that if you aren't constantly saving(assuming you're in a mission/zone that allows you to save), you will lose any progress on one of many possible crashes, freezes, glitches, etc.

I can't recommend this game because of that.

I've played for 3 hours. I installed this as a joke expecting to ♥♥♥♥ around for 20 minutes, laugh at the character creator, and then uninstall, but.... this is actually a fun game. And I'm kinda interested in the story.

the microtransactions and ♥♥♥♥ seem kinda garbage, but for just a single player story driven game, I am enjoying.

Takes the best things of Halo multiplayer and Quake Arena style games, and adds a much needed twist with portals. Game play is fast and fun, and the community is cool.

Some people complain about the bots or say its a small community, but I appreciate the bots and have never had an all bot lobby. There's always players on. It's not a community the size of fortnite or csgo, but it's growing. Coming from dead games like LAWBREAKERS and Blacklight: Retribution, I'll take bots to assist a growing community over long queues and impatient 8 year olds.

I got to play two matches today and I really enjoyed it, and watched a bunch of streamers. That said, it's getting really bad reviews, BUT!, all of the reviews act like it wasn't released with the caveat of "XTREMELY EARLY ACCESS". ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about missing textures and bad water.

the game concept is a battle royale, so that's basically a dry well of ideas, but they manage to put some interesting spin on it with the map/zone being in a grid(so not always round, sometimes the zone is almost maze like) and cash collected in the match can be carried over to the next match in the form of ATMs in the map that you can withdraw, and vending machines that you can buy better guns. Some reviewers are calling it skeezy, but it's not pay to win, you still have to get to that atm, and then once you're full of cash, find a vending machine with a gun worth a ♥♥♥♥ and not die the whole time. If you die you lose like 25% of the cash on you.

I think it's a promising early access game, with a lot of work to be done, but the price is right, the pace is right, and the game play is fun.

===================== UPDATED REVIEW: =========================
I originally posted this review in Nov 2015 about a month after I got it. **I now own 5 of them** , have thousands of hours in Rocket League, as well as a plethora of other games. I love being able to play MMOs with it like Elder Scrolls Online, which I've been building a custom layout that uses radial menus, mode change buttons, chorded buttons, the dual stage triggers, and multiple layers.

I've convinced a few friends to purchase them. My wife uses one when she games.

We own a steam link and it's great for using the SC as both a game controller, but also just a general browsing/media center controller on the tv.

I also love pairing it to my phone and playing Elder Scrolls Online over Steam Link app while at work.

Long story long, I love this controller, I have no desire to ever play with another xbox, ps, or nintendo controller, and desperately hope that Valve is working on a Steam Controller 2, because I'm a guaranteed buyer, of probably multiple ones.

========================= old review ============================
So far the only thing I've played with it is Rocket League, and it's awesome. Love the dual action triggers.

I'm really happy with the purchase, and happy that I have a PC controller that's actively being developed.

I like it much more than the 360 controller I was using before. I love the level of customizaiton it adds.

I would like the ability to customize the input outside of Bigpicture mode.

The customization interface in bigpicture mode is a little glitchy sometimes.

All in all I'm very happy with my purchase, and suggest it to anyone who plays pc games with a controller.

Fantastic FPS with a cool community.

Unfortunate that the developer and distributer are at odds with each other, so there hasn't been a patch in a year, but the game still plays great, and the community keeps it alive.

If you like Counter Strike or games similar, you'll probably like this.

catch me on there IGN: xWAFFELx
