Fantastic! Improves on everything Fallen Order established for the Jedi Series. You can tell a lot of love and passion was put into this game, with hours and hours of content to be done, tones of secrets, Easter eggs and fan service. The story has a lot of heart, and instead of having characters develop like 'magic' (*cough cough" the sequels) we see them change, through relatable aspects, such as a father just trying to protect his daughter in the only way he knows how, or a person faced with difficult decisions, trying follow the only code he knows while constantly having to question it. And I do like how they really dive deep into the emotional and sad aspects, how Cal deals with loss and him having to adapt and prepare for it. How his newly found confidence he begins with slowly diminishes throughout the game and how he has to stop his rage from controlling him. This game not only improves in game play but also in story, while some of the High Republic stuff being harder to invest in, the core aspects are always the most appealing. And the romance, finally in Star Wars, was actually DONE WELL. You actually root for the characters and it's built up throughout the game, and was even hinted at in Fallen Order. It actually feels refreshing to have things like this that doesn't feel forced. This is arguably the best sequel (game-wise), this game also has the best combat and customisation. You can customise Cal, his lightsaber, with 5 different lightsaber stances unlocked throughout the story (duel bladed, crossguard, single etc.). You can also customise BD-1, your lightsaber appearance and more. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with this game. The only criticisms I would have is only because I'm not used to this genre of games anyway (though I do think some of the bosses are too difficult, but maybe I'm just bad at them lol). And there's the buggy release. I was lucky as I played the game a month after so my experience was relatively fine, but I fully believe that developers should not be blamed for the decisions the bigger company made. Yes we should hold EA accountable for rushing this out before it as finished, but games should be reviewed for how the developers intended them to be and for that I give it 9.5/10
