Servers struggling to run for 1.5 weeks now. Game is in an unplayable state at the moment.

No offline mode so you cannot use your purchase at all.

Anything from a mind numbing meat grinder FPS to a tacticool action.

Has plenty.

The game contains a broken mechanic on the ORE system. You upgrade your town to get access to the "better blacksmith" or potion maker. The progression system is dependent on ORE collection for your upward mobility to higher levels.

In Multiplayer this is heavily unbalanced.

The HOST has to upgrade their own town to get the access, however the players in the lobby collect ORE for free and sell it for 200 gold each. Anyone who HOSTS the game does not have access to the potentially limitless supply of gold generated from the ORE mechanic. It puts you at a fundamental disadvantage

This opens up chances for others to leech off of the services provided by others. A steady and unregulated ingame income that depends on using the lobbies of other people.

You gain no benefit of upgrading your own town when you can hop in an online lobby and intentionally die to force town respawn and collect purchased upgrades. You literally do not need to upgrade your own town in this game. It's a mechanic that places no reqs on your ability but moreso on your MOBILITY within lobbies.

Multiplayer progression in this game is broken by this mechanic. Upgrades cost gold and ORE creates limitless gold for everyone except the lobby owner.

Also, the game crashes all the time and you lose items, ORE, and gold. There is no workaround and players are complaining on the discussion board.

The procedural generation is noticeable and loses the dungeon exploration "feel" to it. It becomes a system of narrowing bottlenecks for fights and windy tunnels that are cramped and seemingly RNG generated. It doesn't feel like a dungeron but an awkward system of preset fabrications that leave you feeling the grind and less novelty of RPG elements.

Last, the progression system requires you wipe dungeons to move forward. You wipe the same dungeon 10+ times just collect enough gold for an upgrade. When you move to the next dungeon you wipe it 20+ times. It's a total grind and fails to feel rewarding enough to warrant such a grind.

BIGGEST PROBLEM:

These mechanics and "feel" to this game are sentiments that are noticeable within the first two hours of gameplay. Not only to myself but to my friends as well. If uncomfortable gameplay mechanics and broken progression systems are noticeable so early in your "quest" (First two hours) then the problem is fundamental component.

Hammerwatch 1 is worth the buy and was tons of fun. This game is not worth the purchase unless you're a solo player.

EDIT:

My friends, and myself, returned the game to steam for a refund before passing the two hour mark

The potential to damage your computer and BSOD from 100% CPU usage is far too high to justify the game

The wear and tear that naturally comes about just by playing a game is not worth it.

Needs to be patched, Needs to be fixed, and I refunded before 2 hour mark for extreme resource hog.
