it's fun. i got it super modded though. Hitstop/attack-canceling/timedblock/dodge to make it a modern game. some survival mods and npc overhauls to make the world less empty. and U+ for unlocking some graphic settings/optimizations

download a reshade cause this game is BRIGHT for it being a "stealth" leaning game. download a FOV mod as well. and the cutscene skip mod cause damn, if you die, it'll spawn you right before annoying cutscenes. Besides that, fun game. You can tell that it's going in the right direction with the open-zones keeping the semi-linear tone of the previous games. Gunplay is better than previous but on ranger hardcore, felt it still was too easy. Scratched the itch while waiting for STALKER 2. Miller is cringe af to listen to. runs good on modern hardware.

the game is amazing and worth coming back to with each update. the mod scene is pretty good with custom made maps, SWAT map imports, skins, and AI overhauls to fit your immersion. each map tells a story with it's surroundings and the commander options to control teammates is pretty seamless. upon upgrading to a 4070 super I noticed that the performance is way more consistent but beware, some mods will cause crashes and graphical anomalies.

jumping in for the first time in 2024 and this game runs and plays fantastic. get some mods for the FOV and you're on a solid adventure. I enjoyed the setting in this one more than 7. Hardcore mode is the ONLY way or else the game is too easy.

I kinda regret buying it. I've been stuck on the same quest cause of some key that won't spawn so there's no way to progress.
heli travel is awful and can be abused in pvp
Performance is still buggy, better, but still buggy.
AI is non-functional (shooting through walls, far distant hipfire, sponges)
I don't see them coming up with an update that will draw me back in. not worth the $35

my key for the game got stolen or something, logged into steam one day and the game was gone. the game was mid anyways, not worth rebuying that's for sure lmao
