The environments are beautiful. The gameplay is core survival horror. The best of the remakes.

Devil may cry 1 is honestly one of the best games ever made. Yes, the story is a bit lacking, and the camera was hard to get used to. But I never get tired of playing it. It's always fun.

The enemy designs and bosses are great, and put games released before and after DMC1 to shame. Every move and weapon feels like it has its use, and using them just feels right.

In a lot of action games, enemies don't really react to being hit, bosses especially will just shrug off attacks like you're a fly bumping into a giant. But in Devil May Cry 1 attacks feel weighty and impactful. Stab this giant spider in the face and the whole thing recoils backward in pain, because it was stabbed in the face.

Devil May Cry 3 is a great game, but the collection is worth it just for DMC1.

The lighting and textures are absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥. This remaster is a scam.

Remember back when racing games used to be about racing and not watching long unskippable adverts for glorified 3rd party friends lists? Yeah, I miss those days.

Too many menus and other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and too little racing.

Bullet sponge enemies and annoying NPCs. When I shoot something I want it die. The sheer volume of useless guns is astounding. It's like the game is trying to drown you in vendor trash. Yahtzee really hit the nail on the head when he compared it to reading a spreadsheet.

The tight ammo capacity is another annoyance. The constant barrage of enemies that refused to die means constantly running out of ammo and having to scavenge for more.

The added content really push this game into somthing special. I was suprised by how attached I could get to some small pixelated images, but I really grew to care for the characters.

I enjoyed this more than Dark Souls 3
