-Update 2 regarding the story-

Frey is a very complex character and incredibly spot on considering what she's been through. There are complaints about that she is distant and selfish. Yes those are some very real thing people who have had a tough life growing up use as an automatic defense mechanism to not get hurt. specially people who have been in the foster system in the US. But if you play the game and actually understand what the writers are trying to say and show is that she is a very loving caring person in the deepest of her heart and that shows very well if you just look. Yes she is angry, yes she is pushing people away but if you cant look past that and understand the reason why and just don't care about the dialogue then why even bother playing a story game. So the "story" have taken inspiration from stories like Alice in wonderland obviously and made a twist from it. And presented us with an incredibly complex main character and more relatable than most other main characters in other games. Frey is acting like a human being as she was a real person rather than a typical mindless heroic protagonist.

I could dive even deeper in the characters personality and surroundings to why she acts the way she does and thew impact it has on the story but i wont. Mainly not to spoil the ones who do wanna play it.

So if you just wanna play an open world game with a character that is just placed there to be the hero then this isn't for you.

And if you don't understand basic human behavior for people who have had it hard in their life (mainly during their childhood and young adult life) then this isn't for you either.

-Update 1-
its a bit slow at first, but so is most good story games, you need to get to know the character and the setting, and for about first hour or so there is a lot of dialogue and forced plot (linear walking game-play) but after that it really takes of once you arrive in Athea and well 5h in and this game is incredible. Story is fun and interesting, A LOT of cute cats, combat is fun and engaging but not really hit the jackpot yet since there are 4 elements total (only have the first one so far). Parkour is very fun and aesthetically pleasing and feels great. Much side content even this early.

And I don't experience any issues like apparently 60% of players do, like any at all. (that is running maximum settings with RT and DLSS on quality in 1440p kept the game around 100 fps)

I love this game

Great story, great soundtrack, great voice acting and just about the right amount of horror to be a fantastic summer camp horror game and yet feel like a fun 70s/80s summer camp slasher movie

Edit- this script is amazing, every decision and every dialogue is so good, no matter what you choose, done several play thoughts now and every time i am having the time of my life, it feels real, funny and deep. All characters feels like real people, some are deep some are sarcastic, some are funny and so on. So well written and with the combination of these actors, just wow. Not to talk about the podcast... the chemistry between those two.
