An absolute buggy nightmare, with incredibly fun traversing mechanics.
If it's not on a massive sale, bypass at all costs.

This game didn't age well at all.... And they changed almost nothing other than textures and lighting.

Every original bug, and a few more, are in this remastered edition.

Don't take this the wrong way, the game itself is great, and if you haven't played it, it's worth playing.
But this is no better than the original, if not worse.

This is an amazing game, that was made better in a lot of ways with the enhanced edition.
Really the 'only' reason I give it a bad review, is that the ending is terrible buggy pile of crap, which is depressing after 90~'ish hours of really good game before it.
After finishing the final fight, which took many attempts due to the terrible AI, I was presented with a black screen, which never changed or let me view the ending.

Big spoilers.
The last fight is boring. Astarte just sits in one spot, and if she dies, which can happen in nearly one turn if you don't babysit her, you lose the final fight (which can be long) And if you use the soulforge spell, you're likely to have Zandabar, Icara's lover companion person, who still loves her deeply, murder her while she's in her moody form. Then for some reason after Icara's entire existance being based around being obsessed with saving her sister, praises Astarte for obliterating her sister. It seriously feels like they ran out of budget/time right at the end of the game.

Divinity II was an absolute masterpiece. This game is still good, but the ending is rushed dribble.

I would imagine Edmund also knew how boring this game was, and that's why he abandoned it.

Edit long after original review:
My original review was a bit harsh...
While I'm almost certain that most people won't care about The Legend of Bumbo, the mechanics are actually entertaining once you understand what everything does.

It really feels like the game could have been pushed a lot further than it is, and there's still bugs here and there that aren't getting fixed, but none seem to be game breaking.

I'm actually enjoying the game now that I gave it more of a chance.

I don't recommend this game at full price.
If it's on a huge sale, I would recommend it for Isaac fans who just want more of the Isaac universe, and that Edmond poop art.

This game is extremely fun, and a blast multiplayer.
The problem is that after the last update, multiplayer is unplayable due to extremely frequent disconnects, and no re-join mid run system.

Despite trying to reach out in the forums, and email to the devs, everything has been quiet for over a month.
Sad to say, but stay away from this game until they fix their issues. (Unless you only intend to play single player)

As soon as the mystery starts to fade away, you're left with a game with little to no charm, poor to non-existent explanations of mechanics, little content, large mostly empty maps, an unfinished feel towards everything, and regret you didn't refund.

This game has permanent choices that affect your entire run with no warning that it will impact and limit your entire build for the rest of the game.
Unless you read the wiki, study how to play, and plan every single step of your journey, this game was designed with the expectation that you run aimlessly for 10-20+ hours before you start to understand what you're actually doing, or how you already seriously screwed up your character build.

Go in to this game blind and you'll find yourself walking around empty areas, confused on the what/where/why/how of this game for easily 10-20 hours.
It's a walking simulator with very scattered fights, and occasional quests that can have you running 30 minutes between random towns you've already been to, with permanently dead enemies, and absolutely no new encounters.

Multiplayer was designed so that ONLY the host advances/earns rewards for completing quests. This isn't dark souls where you drop in and out, this is an exploration game with the design choice that you are expected to repeat your running simulator experience for both people.

If you don't mind walking extreme distances, clunky combat, extremely poor AI, the 'host only progression rewards' or an endless stream of fanboys ready to tell you to git gud if you dare question this game's design choices and plentiful issues, you 'might' enjoy this game.

There's some unique designs to this game that caught my eye at first.. but 15 or so hours in all I can think is that it feels like someone tried to update an unfinished game that was abandoned 15+ years ago for some quick cash.

Hands down "THE BEST" game that has come out in the past 2 years.
I wish the average game had even a tenth the love the devs put into this game.

I wish this game wasn't bad.
It has so much personality, so much color in its characters, the best music in any MOBA.

Sad that the gameplay just isn't there. It's wonky, and hasn't gotten any tighter feeling in years, just sloppier.

It's just garbage compared to Dark Souls 1. Should be called Roll Souls since the only thing you do this entire game is roll around.
