A great sequal to an already great game

The Game
Executive Assault 2 is the sequal to a brilliant RTS/FPS hybrid that combines the tactics and planning of most stragety games with the head to head action of the First Person Shooter genre.
Along with these features it it puts it's own Executive assault spin on it. As the title suggests this game starts you of with you forming your own space company selling whatever the hell you want (through text that is) and let's you conquer the galaxy by building, trading and simply annihilating your rivals. This isdone with you starting as either a CEO or an Executron (more on that later). As CEO of your company you can enter RTS mode on your desk just like the original game (which I highly suggest playing as well btw) and from here you use the neatly made Interface to design your station and manage your power, resources, trading, defenses and units. Which you then use to destroy your enemies and ultimately win the game by killing the enemy CEO's.

The Experience
Playing Executive Assault feels different to any other RTS out there. What makes it unique is the fact that at any point while playing you can select a unit and ASSUME DIRECT CONTROL over it. This is where the fun begins FPS gameplay comes in. Every single unit (except miners and cargo ships) in this game can be controlled...Even the giant Monolith ship the size of a small moon (more on some of the units later as well. Yes yes I know). Other than this you also have the Executrons which are other player controlled robots for people to use as extra personnel and unit control. You can have up to 13 Executrons in a company. plus the CEO which makes 14 player per faction!
Now there can be up to four factions per game, which of course means up to 56 players per game (this is absolutely insane I do not recommend this...At least not yet). It is possible for anybody at all times (including the CEO) to walk around the station that has been built and the sheer scale of this game is incredible! When you construct a giant battleship and then exit out of RTS mode to look at it you get an immediate sense of scale, when you look at how big it actually is compared to you!
Now the game does have a sense of humor in that it doesn't really take itself too seriously with some funny voice lines and dialogue. For example When you play as an Executron and try to kill your own CEO you are told by the AI aboard the station that you will self destruct because of this as punishment, but you instantly respawn anyway. Which I found quite funny. The are more examples like this you will discover for yourself when playing.

The battle
Oh boy the combat in Executive Assault 2 is just...Well simple. The game is only made by one guy so it's not excacly groundbraking. You click an enemy with your unit i attacks it. That it. BUT the game severely makes up for this by of course letting you design the loadout of your individual units and letting you control them as I said earlier.
This and then the different classes of units. You have your fighters which you build directly from your station, your STAR fighter which you build from the Docking Bay (these are the figter type that can be player controlled as well), and the the corvette, frigate, cruiser, carrier and battleship which you build from the shipyard. These units are the ones you can customize with any weapons you have researched as you see fit, keeping in mind that more powerful weapons have different costs.
But then again there is one more ship in the game that I spoke of earlier...The Monolith. Now this ship is the biggest one in the game with the ability to oneshot anything with it's massive ball of death(because lasers are overrated). This however takes about 2 minutes to charge before it fires and an only be done under direct control. This is probably the most spectaculaer thing in this game, as you watch the enormous cannon unfold from the ship and charge up with the AI counting down to your enemy's demise (or your own). That the Monolith...A fully armed battlestation no wait (not sorry).

Alright i'm done now. I'll let you figure out the rest yourself, because i'm frankly quite tired of writing this. Bye.

Oh I'm sorry were you expecting a TL;DR? ;))))))))))))))

Oh fine, the game is good you should buy it if you like RTS games and epic battles on a huge scale etc. Happy? No? aight.

EDIT: I realise this review isn't quite complete and that I fail to mention some of the games flaws. This is probably due to the fact that I love this game a bit to much and maybe because this is my first actual review. Sorry about that.
