An absolute juggernaut of the arena FPS, the team at Embark have crafted this addictive game with the utmost of love, all for the low price of free. Movement is snappy and fluid, gunplay is solid and provides great feedback, and Embark clearly prioritize player's fun over tweaks to competitive eSports potential that has bogged so many within the genre. Updates are fed regularly, with game modes, maps, and weapons, with only cosmetics being purchasable with IRL currency. I never would have imagined being so excited for upcoming seasons and lore drops, and though you'll load into a match with the occasional cheater, this enjoyment continues every time I load up the game regardless of if I've taken a break or not, with friends or solo. If you enjoy FPS and want something that actually attempts to earn your attention instead of stringing you along, give this a shot. It's completely free, so what's the risk? Embark is leaving so many other studios in the dust with this one.

I really don't understand the negative reviews this game received shortly after its launch, but I'll still offer an unbiased critique to the best of my ability.
There are things to dislike, but the positives truly outweigh the cons, in my opinion. The gameplay is incredibly addicting and fun; anyone who's played "Control Point" style games such as Battlefield or Battlefront 2 will find a lot to enjoy, and the species-specific playstyles offer a lot of versatility and experimentation. Gunplay is appropriately responsive and fun, though shotguns do still need a nerf as of my writing of this review. Aside from that, I love jumping into firefights. Maps are mostly solid and vary in scale and cover-terrain, giving them a lot of flavor, though a small few need to be exclusive to certain game modes rather than playable in all. Speaking of, the gamemodes are too few, with Raid being a standard "Defend/Attack" mode and Conquest being the typical "Control Point" mode players will be more accustomed to. Still, what's offered as of now is very enjoyable, so future content needs no rush. Character designs are rather excellent, and their skills are fun to use and require proper planning to overcome when played against. Many have feared over-monetization, and I've found this fear unfounded after playing the game for 40 hours. The battle pass offers 90% MINIMUM of the content for FREE, and as of my writing, there is no in-game store and only two skins available for purchase, those being the panda's and fox's. The only money I've spent so far has been the game itself and the Silk bundle for the fox, and I still have received almost every piece of content the game has offered. Surely, more content will come as the game continues development, but I fail to see what everyone has complained of. I believe this game holds a lot of promise so long as people give it a chance. Currently, the main gripe I agree with is the bots, which fill spots that players aren't using so that a match can remain balanced, though this is difficult when bots run into walls and aren't useful in most fights. There's a rather small, but dedicated, community, and it's rather frequent that I'll recognize players from previous matches appearing in other games. However, I do wish to state that the bot issue wouldn't occur if more people played.
In short, even if you aren't a furry, the game is incredibly enjoyable, and if you want to keep your wallet full, the $15 entry fee isn't too bad if you're already a fan of these types of games. Give it a shot and take a ride on the wild side! =UwU=
