A horror classic, and for a good reason. Good story, great atmosphere, and genuine fear.

Nothing i could say that has not already been said. Just an all around fantastic game.

Years after release, this remake still fails to capture more than a tiny fraction of the fun of the original mod.

One of the best driving simulators out there, or more accurately, a car-focused physics simulator. Much more detailed than anything else out there, the only real downside is the lack of multiplayer (which can be fixed with a mod)

I started the game only to be locked into a tutorial before i could access the settings and change the language. I've gone through the very basic tutorial quickly, hoping that i'd be able to use a practice mode before getting into an actual game, only to find out that there is no practice mode. I was able to find the move list only after someone pointed out a tiny unlabeled button it's hidden behind to me. And the gameplay made me wish i was playing Rocket League instead. All around it feels like very little thought was put into anything beyond the basic gameplay, which made trying to get into the game an incredibly frustrating experince.

8/10 game. In remaking Half-Life, Black Mesa manages to stay faithful while modernising the dated aspects of the original. Nearly every change and addition feels like something Valve would do had they had the technology back in 1998. The faithfulness does mean that some of the original's flaws are carried over, and the quality of the game design does dip a bit near the end, but that dip still manages to stay better than most games. There is one major downside to the game - performance issues, and that is not just because of my potato PC. In later portions of the Interloper chapter i had FPS drop to single digits, while the game refused to use 100% of my CPU, GPU, or RAM. With that fixed, easy 9/10

A proper sim, with a massive modding scene, and you can get it for 90% off pretty regularly. If you're even a bit into simracing, you should have this.

Game's not fun anymore :(
Edit:
A great core gameplay loop, unfortunately ruined by years worth of balance issues and directionless updates.

If you're into RTS, this is a really good one.
