It's been a while since I've sent one of these. Not a whole lot has been going on in gaming this year, unless you're into VR or EDF. As the decade draws to a close, I feel a strong pull of nostalgia, to remember good old days and bad old days, but our days nonetheless.

I remember the Moa Event, the first one that established an undeniable truth: Warbros #1. I remember the Gradivus Dilemma, where we decided the official narrative sucked and forced it to change with the weight of our grind for Uncle Ruk. I remember each one of them, and our heroes who stepped up to make Warbros what it is. Ave nex alea. Necare amo.

I remember the ban, of course, and all the bros who resisted it. I remember the 'last hurrah' for Tethra's Doom, the weighted deck and outright cheating DE used to try to prop up their failed poster-boys Crescent Moon. I remember our absolute refusal to accept this, and the combined support of everyone who saw it happening and joined at the eleventh hour; we affectionately call them floodgaters, but they are bros all the same. I remember our exultation at our victory, that despite the rules being changed against us, our scores being stripped away, and the blatant cheating done by the developers, that we still overcame it and cemented our place in the minds of everyone: Warbros #1, now and forever.

I remember, of course, the time afterwards. The bros who loved the clan but hated the game, who felt strong bonds of camaraderie forged through autism and hardship and victory. I remember we decided that we didn't want it to end, that Warbros would continue on as something larger than a single game, bringing our philosophy to the shitter hordes everywhere: go fast or go solo.

And we did. Warbros stuck together for another five and a half years, dipping into numerous games and leaving our mark. Space Engineers, Terarria, Skyforge, Firefall, Eternal Crusade, Payday 2, Black Desert Online, Mordhau, Monster Hunter World, and even more besides. We've built a rich history, gone through turbulence and change, both good and bad. We've lost some along the way, and I hope that FredTEC rests well. We've gained some too, and Infamous Jim was proud to share his news with us.

No one can say what the future holds, and milestones have a way of defining perspective. No doubt there will be more day-one DLC, microtransactions, pay-to-win, and even more awful things slipped into our games. But we'll find the sleek and overcome as we always have. The single constant we can hold onto is the one we've always had:
