Yeah, Mario Kart is basically the only Nintendo series I genuinely care about and World doesn't seem to be that fun with its plethora of straight-line courses, as Nintendo fans themselves admit. I'm not even looking forward to an emulator anymore because of that.

I'm always astounded how highly people rank Nintendo games. They don't seem to stick out that much to me compared to your average indie game and many other AAA games, aside from the third-person action adventure with stealth elements slop formula à la Ubisoft. So I don't get it. From my perspective it looks like delusion. Kind of like any religion is nonsense and only gains merit through the fact that many people just believe it and form a community, I imagine the Nintendo fandom works similarly. Because on their own and from an objective perspective, the games are certainly decent, but they're not that special.

Especially not Pokémon. Pokémon is legitimately garbage, among the ranks of the rest of the AAA slop industry. Still, nevertheless extremely popular and sells great for some reason.

Unfortunately we're all in a bit of an abusive relationship with Bethesda's games. There are so many parts that are great, but there is also so much duct tape and cobwebs and spaghetti just strewn around. This game is probably one of their shining examples of duct tape and spaghetti code.

I had to chuckle Gnewna, I had that happen just outside the sewers when I swam across to claim the little camp at the opening. I died several times and the game reloaded at the sewer exit. After the third time i asked myself WTF...? so the fourth time I fought in third person. I never saw that ankle biter mudcrab sneak up behind me.
