Report a translation problem
For issue with the navigation directions, make bug reports on the SCS forums.
Maybe I am just not looking at it correctly.
Would you mind elaborating on how you do it?
(Or screen shot?)
Not that I know how that's going to help me, as I am not sure how you would reference it in the gallery to the post to me.
So are there any better navigation ...... mods?
There are arrows clearly visible to tell you which lane to change to in advance at junctions. The waypoints mileage is noted, but you should also use the World map to plan and note where you need to go, just as you would IRL. No experienced driver relies on a GPS alone, using the full map and observing road signs is also needed.
Expecting mods to sort out problems may only lead to more problems, learning how the normal game works is part of the whole experience of driving in the game. Racking up the hours will soon lead to becoming familiar with how to drive in the game, it isn't exactly the same as driving IRL, but is easily learned.
Try watching the SCS YouTube videos of the devs driving and some of the better Y/T content makers who feature ETS2 and ATS, you'll see how they approach driving.
I was just asking.
Been watching a few of their videos.
Still learning, I guess.
Marker point is job completion

Marker point is an added waypoint
Now seeing the important part that tells me if it is "To next waypoint" or "To job end".
But don't hang me 100% on this, as I have redefined several of the default keys for personal customization.
You can change the zoom factor both on the dashboard gps and on the route guide, and these zoom factors can be changed individually so that, if you wish, you can have a large overview map on the route guide, at the same time as you have a close-up zoom on the dashboard gps (or vice versa)
Again, I don't remember the default keys, as I may have adapted these to personal preferences sometime in the future.
- But look in the keyboard settings for these things.
If you have zoomed max then yes, you may see those too late.
But the other ones usually should be showing that early enough to react properly.
And then there are roadsigns too which can help you in Findling the right way.
That highly depends on the truck GPS screensize, your zoom and resolution etc. you Play with.
I'm afraid that's not really the case, no. I play with the nav zoomed out to either two or three - two doesn't give me enough time to react, and three is too zoomed out so I can't see details like lanes to be in, only general route direction after the junction.
I addressed it all in my thread that I made about the subject though, you can have a read of it if you want to see where I'm coming from.

I haven't read that all the way through, but it is interesting.
Just to share:
The IN DASH GPS screen, I leave at the most zoomed in. (What ever the default is, as I haven't changed its zoom level)
The "floating one" I change as needed.
That way I can see ahead and - as people have said - know what is coming up.
As much as I prefer driving as per UK, the UK highways are shocking.
Two lanes and suddenly the left (slow) lane peels off.
I think something else that isn't helping are the terms used.
"keep right THEN exit right."
WTF? (I believe is the expression)
If the lane peels off the road, does that mean I exit in/on the right lane THEN turn right again?
Seldom is that the case.
In Europe the roads are at a whole different level - and I'm not saying it is good or bad.
When you come up to a complex intersection: rather than having two exits for the crossing highway, you have ONE.
Then you have two exits on it. The first one if you are ultimately going RIGHT, and the second one if you are ultimately going LEFT.
That kind of keeps that traffic away from the main highway's traffic.
That is nice.
But when you get to places where there are MULTIPLE options, the GPS/Nav system really fails.
I've been caught:
"Keep right then exit right"
My take, get in the right lane, then take the right exit.
Nah. Of course not.
Get in the right lane, keep LEFT, THEN take the right exit.
There is/are no other voice commands. Suddenly.
Ok, I'll find a new route.
$!#!@$#@#@#@!!!!!
10km diversion. Gee thanks. (NOT!)
WRT the speed.
Yeah, I try to play it as real as possible.
So if I am coming up on one of these complex intersections, I slow down to say 50 or so.
Yes, the added traffic is painful. So if it is heavy traffic I maybe go to 40.
Then quickly (and constantly) glance down at the IN DASH one which shows me where I am supposed to go.
That works most of the time.
But as it is so zoomed in, complex places can fail.
Slightly off topic - but also kind of still on topic.
PORTS!
AARRGGHH!
So of them are painful too!
(In Europe)
I follow the red line on the GPS.
It is turning right through an arc.
"Turn left" says the GPS.
I get it that there are/could be roundabouts in the ports if you look close enough.
But sometimes I totally ignore what it is saying and just follow the red dashed line.
The voice navigation feature actually says "keep right...get ready to turn right...exit right" etc etc. I use it all the time but I don't rely on it...I always plan my route for rest stops and fuel stops...I do mostly long hauls so it's pretty easy to see what's what.
When you hear a phrase starting with "Keep" or "Use", take it as a cue to slow down and assess the satnav arrows or road signs on where you need to turn or exit.

Just picked up job at/in Gijon.
Just East, there's a big intersection, then JUST south another one to exit to a factory (to the WEST).
3 lanes. The right most is an exit to go WEST. (Apps)
There was an accident on it, so I kept to the LEFT MOST lane.
Got past it.
All good.
There is a merge for traffic from the east, heading west. All good.
By this time I'm back in the RIGHT lane.
Then got to THE BIG one half way between those two places mentioned.
An exit was going SOUTH. (Right most lane)
NO VOICE message: Keep left.
I saw the signs on the road, and quickly moved left one lane.
Get THROUGH that intersection and - for reasons unknown - I hear the navigation voice.
"Keep left."
Oh, ok, just came up on an exit on the right.
But it begs the question:
I was in the RIGHT MOST LANE earlier on - less than a minute ago - and did NOT get a message. (Yes, the little green arrows were there).
Now I'm in the RIGHT LANE and get a message "KEEP LEFT".
ARGH!
@Drive_safely:
I think I've installed that sound mod.
I'm hearing different sounds, but the nov voice is the same.
