Game is causing Steam to shut down
I've been playing for coming up to 30 hours now. The last three days I haven't had a single issue until today. I launch the game and either on the start menu or about a minute after loading into the game it freezes or crashes because steam is closing itself. I've tried just about everything but nothing seems to fix the problem. I'm really upset because in my 30 hours I've only encountered one or two graphical glitches which didn't last for more than a few seconds and now I cant even play. If anyone has any idea what I can do to fix this please let me know. :(

Ok I do use a ps5 controller through bluetooth. I'll try it plugged and see if it fixes the issue. Thank!

Probably due to Steam Input.

Any time anything's broken in the Steam client, it's generally Steam Input to blame. This game uses native Steam Input API, so buckle the @#$% up, it's going to be a bumpy ride forever.

There's a reason the little Steam Input icon on game store pages is a broken controller.

How would steam input break it over bluetooth but not over cable. Wouldn't it break over both of them?

No, USB always has a single HID I/O report protocol.

Bluetooth has two different protocols, PlayStation controllers start out in SixAxis (DualSense 3) mode -- lacks support for rumble and LED color.

The Steam client immediately changes PlayStation controllers over Bluetooth into the alternate protocol that supports rumble, LED, touchpad, etc. That change is irreversible until you power the controller off and back on again.

You can read more about it here:

http://github.com/SpecialKO/ValvePlug

Don't actually use that though, since this game REQUIRES SteamInput and ValvePlug was designed to neuter SteamInput so it can't break things.
