Performance PSA, use REFramework to remove stutter caused by CAPCOM's anti-tamper
The latest nightly build of REFramework has removed the memory scanning code that I warned about in my review of the game.

I will let the before and after speak for itself:

Grab REFramework from https://github.com/praydog/REFramework-nightly/releases , you need mhwilds.zip and only care about dinput8.dll, place it in the game's install directory and you're done -- stutter gone.

Not bad, gained 20 fps with the new build from the one i tried last time, both inside desert town and outside, capped at 60 now at 1080p on high preset at least with a 2080ti (waiting my 5070ti to arrive)

Laptop 4090 = no changes, same 55-65fps on ultra w/o frame-gen :lunar2019piginablanket:

Would this help the steam deck too?
Loeher Mar 5 @ 9:04am
This totally removes all the micro stutters. Thanks!
i would try it tomorrow
Regular loading stutters like after loading screens still exist, but going out in the field feels night and day with this. Like 99% of stutters just gone. It's a crazy difference.

Well, for frame gen performance you still need Special K to fix the frame pacing of the game's Reflex implementation. That much didn't change.

Alternatively, you could just use FSR frame gen. It doesn't use Reflex, and doesn't need Special K's frame pacing fix.

Works good for me with frame gen, but I use FSR instead of DLSS because DLSS causes extreme artifacts with some hud elements for me. Didn't know frame pacing is also busted on DLSS.

Its amazing how Capcom still does this with their own DRM on top of DRM.

Have they learned nothing from the past? I guess not. :steamfacepalm:
