Wyvern Milk and Monster Spoor? Really?
For anyone who actually know Japanese, have the localizers changed the names of those two things?

The Monster Spoor came from the mission where you encounter the Guardian Odogaron. Specifically when you talk about tracks.

But Wyvern Milk is the worst offender here. Why? Why would you name it that?

Can't help you with the milk part, but spoor is literally the word for animal tracks:

The funniest thing is that early on people are calling it Wylk. It's then revealed that it's actually called Wyvern Milk. So people didn't know what it was and still managed to blend it's original name into a shorthanded name. Pure lazy writing right there.

It's not stupid, it's actually stupidly common. In fact, it's how a lot of English came to exist, and will probably be how it evolves in the future. Assuming you know where languages originated from you'd also know there are actual languages and modern country names that came from very simple names as well. Austria was once literally "East Realm", and the common modern spelling for English users is just the version we ended up with when the neighbors tried to make it look good on paper (as an example).

To say something like, "Wylk being Wyvern and Milk together is lazy writing", is not understanding language, how it is used and how it evolves over time.

Yeah most likely Wylk as a word did orgiinally come from wyvern milk and eventually was shortened, then its original wording got lost along with the rest of the knowledge about it and wyveria as a whole.

Either you're that one guy I banned for insulting people that also freaked out and made some website publish article about how I was going to steal your topic and take over the mod you where making for a certain game. It was hilarious.

Or you're a random nobody that I don't remember.

Damn, that's some really poor choice of words to use for that substance.

No one in gaming history has ever used Spoor instead of tracks. I doubt even most hunters know what it means.

Hmm yeah I am one of those confused as to why they decided not to just use tracks in the English version of the game and instead went for the Dutch translation of the word. Came here trying to find out whether or not this was a monster hunter thing I wasn't aware of. Turns out the English just stole our words :).

But wyvern milk on the other hand, that just sounds super awkward.

How does wyvern milk sound awkward?

The spire is a living contruct sending nourishing energy throughout the regions, calling it milk makes perfect sense as its essentially nursing the land and creatures within it
What, you don't like Fantasy Pilk?
Really though, I bet there's a story reason it's called Wyvern Milk that we won't get to find out until post-launch updates or even the inevitable Expansion / DLC.
Like idk maybe it's gonna be that the 'Torch is housing some super powerful Elder Dragon that is having its energy siphoned much like retrieving milk from a cow.

The sexual innuendos says hello.

Could have just named it Essence rather than milk.

Wait, this is the latest complaint on the forum now? I think people need to step back from video games, for just a day or two.

That's just a user-end issue with dirty minded word use.

I like milk, and Spore was a fun game

Do you feel dirty when you drink cow milk irl or eat cheese or other dairy products?

Stop making it weirder than it needs to be.
