Upgrade Direct Storage from version 1.2.2 to 1.2.3 fixed Stutter issues and camera turning fps drops for me.
Hi all, upgrading direct storage files dstoragecore.dll and dstorage.dll fixed all my stutter issues with the game running on Windows 11.
You can also delete the two files but Direct storage will be disabled causing further performance issues or the game just not running.
The files can be downloaded from here:

https://www.nuget.org/packages/Microsoft.Direct3D.DirectStorage

Rename the download to microsoft.direct3d.directstorage.1.2.3.zip go into the Native folder then into Bin then into x64 and the two files are there. Just replace the original files in the game folder with these and you will be good!

This helped me a lot with a more stable framerate hell can actually hold 60fps a lot now before I had the game constantly dropping into the 40-50s, it made the game unplayable to bearable.

This is literally a placebo too, and the coding is meant to work as is.

Yes, but I’ll do anything to stop this game for making my hardware so hot and my fan so loud while playing it, doesn’t make any sense, erdtree, BG3, FF7 rebirth don’t made any of those, everything normal, except this game. and this is concerning for long term.
Discussion like this does some work for the demanding technical req in my PC, the heat and fan a little bit better.

Thanks

How hot? If you go over 85 degrees Celsius, then you are likely to run into thermal throttling, which can lead to large drops and stutters. Not every game utilizes hardware in the same way. Titles like MH Wilds and Dead Space Remake are good titles to test stability since they tend to use what resources are available to their maximum and drop gigabytes of assets on the VRAM. If your cooling is adequate, then the PC should stay below 70 degrees even at max load.
Somehow it stops me from entering the game, just crushes everytime when launching. Anyone has the same issue?
Wilds installed on nvme, yet game does not use direct storage (says CPU)

Is there a way to fix it?

I went through my PC to make sure direct storage was working. I have a nvme with pci 4.0 and a 4070ti super and I'm running windows 11 so i should hit all the specs for direct storage. I even went into my bios and made sure rebar was enabled and when I check gamebar it says that direct x 12u is compatible and it says that all my nvme drives should be compatible with direct storage.

I tried the direct storage download to see if it would help with pop in/stutters but it still says cpu in wilds so I don't think this will help if direct storage isn't even being used. I'm not sure what else I can do to get it to use direct storage.

I tried this and game started crashing after I reached high rank
holy sh1t, this actually DOES improve the performance.
so far i tried:
- upgrading dlss to 4 -> no improvement
- installing REFramework -> no improvement
- upgrading directstorage to 1.2.3 -> +15-20 fps

Are you right in the head?
That is the official place where all microsoft dll files are being managed.
Who the ♥♥♥♥ knows nuget you have to be some dev to be ever heard about that site or what ever…. Calm your ♥♥♥♥ bro, game still runs like hot garbage
Dino Nugets are great.
I can confirm even Warhamer 40K Darktide which is an old game uses DirectStorage version 1.2.3, I was curious and did a file search in my Steam folder and discovered this interesting fact, nice job man, now I can game smoothly ;-)
Guys, when you open up your Windows Gamebar with "WIN+G" ingame, click on the "Options" cog on the top, then "Gaming features," what does it say for you under Direct Storage? On your drive?
For me it says: "BypassIO.. driver not supported something something rsKernelEngine"

But it did say that already before the .dll swap.
lmk, thanks
Bypass IO doesn't matter. Unless you have anti-virus software, it's generally not going to be bypassing anything. IO filter drivers are the primary thing BypassIO bypasses and they are uncommon on correctly maintained gaming machines.

Typical applications for file system filter drivers include:

Anti-virus/anti-malware utilities that scan files for viruses or malware on file creation, access, or modification.

Data encryption programs that automatically encrypt and decrypt data being written to or read from disk.

Backup filters used to create backups of data for disaster recovery and business continuity.

Compression filters that compress and decompress data on the fly, which saves disk space and improves performance for large volumes of data.

Hierarchical storage management filters that manage the migration of data between high- and low-cost storage media.

Since I guarantee you have none of this, you don't need to care about BypassIO :)
