How hot? If you go over 85 degrees Celsius, then you are likely to run into thermal throttling, which can lead to large drops and stutters. Not every game utilizes hardware in the same way. Titles like MH Wilds and Dead Space Remake are good titles to test stability since they tend to use what resources are available to their maximum and drop gigabytes of assets on the VRAM. If your cooling is adequate, then the PC should stay below 70 degrees even at max load.
Is there a way to fix it?
I went through my PC to make sure direct storage was working. I have a nvme with pci 4.0 and a 4070ti super and I'm running windows 11 so i should hit all the specs for direct storage. I even went into my bios and made sure rebar was enabled and when I check gamebar it says that direct x 12u is compatible and it says that all my nvme drives should be compatible with direct storage.
I tried the direct storage download to see if it would help with pop in/stutters but it still says cpu in wilds so I don't think this will help if direct storage isn't even being used. I'm not sure what else I can do to get it to use direct storage.
so far i tried:
- upgrading dlss to 4 -> no improvement
- installing REFramework -> no improvement
- upgrading directstorage to 1.2.3 -> +15-20 fps
For me it says: "BypassIO.. driver not supported something something rsKernelEngine"
But it did say that already before the .dll swap.
lmk, thanks

Since I guarantee you have none of this, you don't need to care about BypassIO :)
