It's very poetic that a game that's encouraged its community to band together and stomp out antagonistic forces just banded together to stomp out an antagonistic force.

Arguably the most rewarding and most frustrating timesink of a game you'd ever sink hours into.

Try it today!

Never had a massive fear of open water of the concept of what might be lurking in the deep.

Videogames like these make sure that I do, though.

Fallout 76 is a game that's really managed to outdo its horrendous release; from a game that's turned from every other survival online game with encouraged PVP that was rising in popularity in the 2010s, you'd be pleasantly surprised to find just how laid back the entire playerbase has become now. Players are still aplenty in the servers and any time you pass by players, it's always been a friendly experience and everyone's more happy to be around each other to form groups rather than shoot each other out.

The addition of Wastelanders brought back additional NPCs to the ruins of Appalachia, and with them being two different factions you're able to side with. And with that, these two factions may be the better-written factions that Bethesda's put into a game in a long time; there's no black and white goodness to any of the factions you choose, but both factions are depicted more morally grey. Hell, the main raider faction you side with as one of the primary factions aren't your standard amoral goons and're more organised & look out for one another like a found family.

But of course, this is a Bethesda game, which means this game has the usual Bethesda jank: specific quest items in the world being really easy to miss even when marked on your ingame hud, the game's levelling system tied to the loot making it take a while to start acquiring better gear to outfit yourself & all sorts of weird jankiness associated with a multiplayer game running on a singleplayer game's engine.

As for this game's ingame store and the microtransaction system, while I do have my holdups about the thought of paying more money to access stuff in a game that costs 40 to 50 dollars to play, everything in the store is purely cosmetic. Fallout 1st is also at least a bit forgiving, mainly because any content you acquire from the subscription plan remains accessible to you, even after you've cancelled your subscription.

In conclusion? Fallout 76 is a game that grows on you, even with its problems.

For a game that's been in the works for as long as it has been, it's certainly put a lot of interested people into high hopes when it comes to what this game would bring to the table; I'm certainly one of them.

Perhaps it's this game's lengthy development process that's made a lot of us hope for an epic adventure lasting a lot longer than what was provided, but in this game's short runtime, I can definitely say that I've never experienced a game as dark & twisted as Scorn, and probably won't for some time now.

I do wish there was more to experience ingame, and the artbook does confirm there was meant to be a lot planned for this game that never made it into the final cut, but game development is never as easy as a lot of us assume and compromises need to be made at the end of the day.

Scorn is an experience I would recommend; a short experience, but one that will stick with in many ways.

For a game that's day 1 into its release, I'm loving everything that's been provided so far!

This game takes what's best about titles such as Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley & other similar farming games and added a splash of Animal Crossing's townbuilding, as well as having a super solid art direction & aesthetic.

I never realised just how badly I've been needing a charming farming sim set in my home country and I can safely say I'm super invested; here's to what the future brings to this charming game!

A decade-old classic that's always a great time, even when everything's chaotic.

While I missed out on being around during its early access days, DRG is a big recommendation from me; it's chockfull of character & love & I can easily see this game sticking around for a good long while.

Solo'ing is fun, but this is absolutely a game that's best played with 3 of your best mates. This game also has one of the best gaming communities I've ever had the privilege to be a part of; pairing up with randoms in this has always been a great time, everyone's in their element and ready to have a great time, which is something you don't get to experience that often these days in modern online gaming.

While the story's one of this game's weakest parts, the post-apocalyptic dark ages this game takes place in, on top of this game's great-feeling parkour & combat, definitely make playing this game & ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around feel like a good time.
