Totally addictive for some reason. i am not a strategy game player and i generally used to find those types of game boring. but when i get into xcom, i just cant stop. Finished the game? play the legacy pack, play with the mods. i just cant stop.
i think of some reasons for me to love this game. first of all, i like to use brain, i like tactical shooters and stuffs, but strategy games are slow paced and i found them boring, bringing in the next point. there is an engaging gameplay. unlike many other strategy game, you are not only planning for actions, you are constantly challenged with unexpected events, and even your plans dont always work. it is like rainbow six siege at some points. some found the % system unforgiving and easily got salty, but thats what make this game interesting. it is usual to miss a 95% shots in the game, then you have to make an entirely new plans or always have a back up plan. even if i take an hour to finish an action round, it never feels dull, and you are on edge analyzing enemy actions and praying for their shots to miss.
