Edit: After over 2700 hours, I'm ready to give this game a sorta full review.

Destiny 2 is an action RPG shooter, it has RNG elements when it comes to loot so be aware of that.

Gameplay: Overall ability and weapon synergy is in a good spot all things considered. As of this update there's some bugs/issues affecting certain builds (air effectiveness with weapons being the biggest one. Considering the feedback I imagine it will be tuned in the future). Gunplay is great, guns feel good to use and aren't tryna fight against you. PVP does have a curve to it that revolves around efficient and effective use of abilities and weapons together. I wouldn't consider myself top 5% or anything but I've been able to keep a relatively good KD and managed to get the Iron Lord title on the first week and Unbroken at the same time.

DLC: Expansions and seasons for this game are interesting to say the least. You'll have your annual (or at least sorta) expansion packs for the game, they'll cost around 30-40 a pop and are typically well received (with Witch Queen being one of best received ones with the story and gameplay mechanics added that empower players). Seasons cost about $10 USD and have a unique story that builds on the last one, usually culminating at the end of the final season before an Xpac.

For Witch Queen specifically, there's a dungeon pass for the 2 dungeons coming out this year. This is a first and it'll cost you dough. So far the first dungeon has been OK. There's been a few issues that have made it a headache but its fully replayable and you can constantly get new loot from it.

Feedback: Bungie has been doing better on taking community feedback when it comes to player concerns. Not much to say here.

Overall there's a lot that would fit better in a full on discussion post or video that'll help you more than I can. The base game is free to play (I got it at release for the 60 dimmadollars) so feel free to check out the gunplay and ability play that I mentioned earlier. With the new subclass updates you'll have some room to modularize parts of your build to your style. If you end up liking the game I'd highly advise getting at least Beyond Light (to unlock the Stasis subclass) and Witch Queen. Shadowkeep and Forsaken are more of a backdrop now and I'd only suggest them for certain exotics or for the raids/dungeons.
