Been a while since I played but one of the best games money can buy and value for money second to none really. Very polished and can easily be played with a controller! I did stop in the end just because I didn't have my base setup correct and that's always an issue with this game, if you do a base build in the wrong sequence its curtains sadly....very unforgiving in that respect and like me you can be 65hrs down before realising its going to just end up in tears!

Recently I've bought the ultimate collection for about £4 off kinguin and intend to give this another spin but research the best base sequence next time rather than flush 65+ hrs down the toilet

I’ll leave a thumbs up just for the pre a17 game and the hundreds of hours of fun I had!

I maxed out many levels with the Auger, built a hotel where noobs came to stay, built ‘the white tower’ which was totally reinforced steel built on pillars and pit traps underneath with spinning killing discs that were solar powered on sensors!

I experienced some of the most joyful multiplayer fun ever joining others to fight the hordes, often with 10 others and admiring some of the most amazing creative bases you can imagine!

The community was fantastic and mods did great work too.....

The game was perfect for me, happy as a pig in shiz but alas the new version is like suddenly playing the game in handicapped mode, suddenly everything feels laboured, slower and even more grindier to something that required anti social time investment as things were, but the rewards justified the price......just for me I keep coming back here to check reviews hopeful the devs wake up and eat humble pie by reverting back to a16 and just jazz up the graphics and optimise the game more, seriously....that’s all what’s required.

If I win the lottery I’ll try to build the same game, just right!

I've no idea why people are complaining, the main weapons you always want like the sniper rifle are almost instantly available as are many weapons, you don't need to be paying money for things if you don't want to and for the current price £16 is a total bargain for the amount of actual game you have!

Within 20minutes I was flying choppers, stealing planes, sniping snipers in guard towers, cooridinating team shots and using tactics and sending my drone around to scout for enemies, ace!

If you liked Division, but was bored of the grind, liked PUBG but got frustrated with the cheaters and want a more chilled out and enjoyable experience then you have no need to look any further!

Love it 10/10

Pretty simply if you wanted a digital version of the table top game then this is the most viable option available! This game is literally XCOM x wh40k and best of all it features Space Wolves which imo are leagues above any of the other factions!

I've waited probably 20 years for this game to arrive and it doesn't dissapoint, go get it! Even the first Xcom on the amiga I was thinking how that style would suit 40k.

The only gripe I have is it has less depth than even Amiga warhammer games have going back 20 years ago! There is almost no build up throughout a campaign or indiviual missions; just abit of text about your objective and thats about it really which is a shame given the sheer wealth of amazing storylines that are out there. The UI is a little faffy also but not a horror by any stretch, I just hooked up my Xb1 pad and it works a charm now.

If the game added more depth regarding story/plot and fixed some minor UX stuff then I would have given this a 9/10.

Been a while since I hit a strategy game and had seen Total War over the years but never taken the plunge for some reason!

Pros

- Good game mechanics (at times)
- Can progress at a nice pace
- Great sound track/effects

Cons

- no AI assistance in handling your own troops, they will happily sit there being executred if you don't step in at all times
- religion issues, if the area isn't happy they just create a massive army to crush you out of thin air!
- the AI cheats at random, I had completed the main game then wanted to take over all areas, well my allies teamed up against me and massive armies kept coming out of nowhere.
- you cant be more specific with the tax as much as I wanted to.

So basically, I've had to quit this game because I can't progress it at all, allies attack me at both ends on land/sea with armies they couldn't possibly have generated with their income and such like, you can block ports or attack buildings and it doesn't slow them down it seems, its a shame as I would have spent hundreds of hours finishing this game in the way I wanted but its purely a waste of time fighting the impossible.......this has put me off the other total wars sadly, a shame as mostly they all get positive reviews.

Maybe if I quit when the main mission was complete I'd be happy, but I want to go full powermonger mode and take over the island :)

So Sensible Soccer was the best footy game going up until 3d was invented and at that point FIFA and PES already had the upper hand and evolved from 2d > 3d with ease, Sensi however didn't it was a car crash and never recovered, it should never have tried to move to 3d just because others did....

Roll on 20 years later and the modern remake of the game arrives.......with must excitement I bought the game, although I was dubious with how some of the features were described, almost unfootball like but nevertheless I bought the game, played a few matches and wow, it has barely no feeling of the original version of the game at all! :(. The tackling is bizarre, (kamikaze springs to mind) the AI is the worse thing I've seen in a footy game, passing is all over the place and shooting is comical, you can just alter the direction of the ball whenever you feel ie right before it hits the goal just move and around the goalkeeper it goes!

Its almost more like kick off than sensi soccer to be honest! The way the tackling is and how ropey the control dynamics are. The sounds are AWFUL! For me, its a sin to produce a game based on an amazing franchise and produce something so sub par from a game 20 years ago......Okay its not easy to emulate or rebuild something amazing, but try to stick to what made the original great at least, get that right, then build on top of it with modern day features.

I really didn't want to write this review, I'll refund for now, and maybe check in when the final version is here, maybe they dramatically improve the game to be anywhere near the original. All I want to see is the same quality gameplay as sensi but with online features pretty much, too much to ask?

Oh and after a few games, I couldn't even save my progress......amazing, other thing was stats etc are designed very badly too, given how things have moved on with stats you'd thing something basic would be in place, its behind the original here also.

It starts of original and fresh, very dark and a good challenge but sadly for me, to keep alive having to do every chore just becomes soooo boring and mundane, for that reason eventually I gave up on it.....the basics should be optional

Edit: After giving it another go, and working the combat out, it got a whole lot more interesting, recommended

Got to say atm this is by far my most fave game its brilliant, just needs a few things adding, i've not played the limits and things but a k/d ratio would be nice, I'd gladly pay money for this for sure!!! Its slick and very nice to pick up and play!
