Saying it's a new game yet it's inheriting reviews from CS:GO, enough for me to say a ♥♥♥♥ you with a review

Having a boss die and there's a phase two that's another boss or the same boss but cooler with their own HP bar is a neat surprise. When it's every major boss from the third up to the end it gets old fast and very tiring killing the phase one boss constantly. Even most elden ring players thought that was lame as ♥♥♥♥ on the final boss.
Especially whilst the enemies have the bloodborne rally system to extend fights.

Most other things about the game is cool for sure, but the difficulty creep from elite enemies having huge HP pools, needed moves like wake-up dodge and mini-staggering with parries locked behind quartz, forcing the use of charged heavies in a limited window just to open up visceral attacks, every boss inflicting a status ailment, and the thing mentioned above make this game absolutely exhausting.

Edit: Changed this to a positive review. I still have my complaints, but there's enough quality still that I felt a no review is too harsh in hindsight.

Great game so far. However the game softlocks after a late game boss and therefore is unfinishable in it's current state on my playthrough. I'll change the review if I remember to when it problem is fixed. (Restarting respawns the boss and does the same softlock)

Edit: It got fixed by a modder first but I'll take it

At launch, has some grimy balance issues especially queuing duo. Completely RNG via an ingame gacha system if you can unlock more options to deal with it

Early Access Review
As of early access, this game is a lot of great fun for sure, frustration to boot, though it's hard to make a game with this much random variables without getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over here and there. One buyer's note to add, is that although this is a 'rogue-like', at the moment there isn't much in the form of unlocking stuff for the next life, aside learning how to deal with new enemies and wand configurations.
If you're the sort to go into games blind, expect a few deaths learning the hard way of mixing lightning with water, or not having a way to have an explosive spell go off further away from you.

Structurally and gameplay wise this game is sound for sure, although a dwindling skilled playerbase and a drag/accel meta that cripples people that don't live next to server hotspots will make it a tough grind to 'git gud' in.

Wait for an expansion or a heavy price reduction, you might as well stick with Civ 5 at this price tag. (Plus locked preorder content is always a bad sign)

This game is like some weird bastard child of a newer Fallout game with an indie rogue-like game like spelunky or Isaac.

The gameplay itself actually feels decent, although you might get killed a little too easily by traps or explosives.

The main complaint about the game that most people seem to have is about the hunter that appears on the floor after a few minutes to avoid staying on the floor for too long, but he is arguably one of my favourite mechanics. It means that you don't get the freedom to loot the whole floor, meaning that greed is punishable, although if you keep the traps loaded, save your healing/ammo wisely and pick your location well, the hunter is very much killable, and doesn't come back for that floor.

Overall, the game is great, please play more before you rage review about the hunter.

Lore-wise it looks like they intended this game be the 'sequel' to Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition in the timeline.

As long as you don't suffer the crashes and don't make the mistake of trying to start off as any sort of mage (early game is nightmarish), you should enjoy your time, although I recommend finishing the first dark souls ( + DLC ) to understand the world and it's characters better.
