I love this game, and used to play it often before full release. Only now, I can't. The game crashes every single time I try to start a game or join one, so I literally haven't even been able to play the full release. Btw, I changed settings (like graphics/frame rate/etc) and validated files just to make sure it wasn't an issue on my end. It didn't help.
Once I can actually play this game, I'll change my review.

Personally, I think the dossier idea is cool and the story wasn't bad. Unfortunately, there are many aspects of this game that become tedious or annoying. The mini-games where fun at first but eventually became boring; also, I am colorblind so playing a super fast mini-game involving colors wasn't exactly super fun. I think I could have actually enjoyed this game if there wasn't a time limit on so many things.

I've hear two things about this game. The first from the company who made it and the second from people who bought it.
The company promised a lot of things, one of which was an open world filled with choices. And most people who bought it were only talking about the endless amount of bugs.
This lead to thinking that I could deal with the bugs, if there was a killer plot and world. Unfortunately I just ended up buying a game that was basically broken and had a pretty boring story (that also was lacking any real choice).
I could list out every problem to prove why I don't recommend this game, but honestly it would be quicker to list the pros. So overall, don't get this game. Really.

I have rated this game twice now, the first time I recommended it but felt more in the middle. As I continue playing it, I cannot still say that. This game is fine to play once, without worrying about side missions or collectibles. If you plan on getting 100, then this game is quite annoying. There are many aspects of the game that suck but the worst thing is the countless bugs. If you just want to play it once and not deal with anything then go ahead and get it. If you are not, I do not recommend it. Overall, I find myself getting frustrated with the game more than enjoying it. I could list out all the negatives but honestly there are a lot.

So this is the main takeaway: do not buy this game unless you have played the other two and want to finish the trilogy. If you are interested in this game, just buy the first one and skip the second/third. If you do buy this game, skip the DLCs. They are very buggy and there is a high chance you'll just not play them anyways.

Here is the main takeaway for anyone who doesn't feel like reading: it's a good game if you really put in effort, but it is not a good Tomb Raider game. Thus if you are not going in with high expectations, you'll probably like it.

Now onto more specifics . . .
Pros:
beautiful
easy to play
bugs are at a minimum
story is engaging
cut scenes do not move character
lots of backstory and interesting things to find
good flow, even when not following story

Cons:
lots of cut scenes
feels somewhat like a movie
predictable

So if you are planning on just following the main story line, you probably won't find the game as enjoyable. It will feel like watching a movie, and you won't be able to upgrade everything which can come in very handy. Actually collecting everything, reading it, looking at the environment, and more has a huge impact. When you play it like that, the cut scenes aren't as bad and more spaced out.
As for my hardcore TR fans, I found this game to be in the middle. I liked it more than Rise and Shadow but not anywhere as much as previous games. It is a game I do not mind playing and can find it enjoyable, but really Lara could be swapped out and I wouldn't notice. If you want a TR experience I recommend playing a different game.

The story is fine, Lara can be annoying at moments but whatever. It's the game mechanics that ruin it. You are constantly faced with cut scenes that put Lara some place else, the platforming is choppy and annoying at best, boss battles feel like a pain, and more. Overlooking all of that, it does not even feel like a tomb raider game as everything that made up older ones is gone. I do not recommend buying this.

I'm gonna be honest. The game play is whatever, not a huge fan; although the DLC is pretty fun. I'm not recommending this to other players though because of the endless bugs and glitches. I'm just really over it, can barely even play the game without it crashing. Now I am playing a DLC and cannot progress since the bugs make it crash everytime I walk through a door. I cannot leave the area and I do not want to load up an old save since I actually want to experience the DLC. This is honestly one of the most poorly made games I have played.

This is by far one of the worst nancy drew games I have played. Most of the game is long moments that are not necessary, like the GPS loading up. Felt like I went through the game in seconds. Puzzles are barely even puzzles, most are simple little activities or fishing. And then you get to the ending. Which is a random puzzle that is extremely difficult to beat, ended up stressing me out a lot and I quit. I have played and beat this game before A LONG TIME AGO. I could not remember why I never played it since then until I tried playing it again today. Would not recommend.
