Saying that this game is very unique would be the understatement of the century. This game is easily one of the most unique games I have played in a while, and I absolutely love it.

Right off the bat, the art style is incredibly distinctive. I'm no art expert so I couldn't describe exactly how the art is so distinctive but what I can tell you is that it is something that you only understand fully once you play the game. Speaking of which, the game itself is absolutely wild. The story whilst having a consistent flow, manages to remain (at least in my experience) very unpredictable, and it's usually very hard to tell what's going to happen next (except maybe in the beginning when the game is still picking up steam). The pacing is also all over the place, one moment you're calmly investigating a scene, and the next you are in a timed, high speed trial, where one moment you are literally shooting at people's statements with "truth" bullets to expose contradictions and lies whilst also keeping in mind a number of mechanics which I won't go into but can sometimes make these sections a bit tricky, and the next you are engaging in a rhythm game to try and deflect someone's stubbornness and refusal to accept the truth. The characters all start off as these basically stereotypical versions of different groups, but as you progress through the story, these stereotypes slowly break down as you discover new information about them that sometimes completely flips who you think they are completely on their head. Now some may not like at all of this and think that it's a little too much chaos for them and honestly, fair enough if you think that way. But if what I'm describing sounds appealing to you in any way, then there's a good chance you'll absolutely love this game.

Now that we got the unique stuff out of the way, I want to talk about the more generally good things about the game. The dialogue is perfect, as it first starts out first by being unbelievable, sort of things that stereotypes in a video game would say. However as the game continually progresses and these stereotypes get broken down, the dialogue becomes more real and authentic, like they are actual people just with unique personalities. There are two endings but one of them is basically just an elaborate game over that sends you back to where you messed up so in regards to the true ending, whilst I obviously won't say what that ending actually is, what I will say is that it's a really good ending.

Let me make one thing very clear if you are interested enough to get to this point in the review, if you for whatever reason find any level of suggestive, sexual, or otherwise risque jokes/talk uncomfortable, do not play this game. That's tough for me to say since I love this game so much and in fact think that this risque nature actually helps build the characters (especially the main antagonist), but any sort of discomfort with that kind of thing will be very problematic if you play this game. That kind of talk and humor is everywhere within this game, and no I'm not saying this game is so bad it's like a porn game, nor am I even saying that what they talk about is very explicit, but what I am saying is that it is very much everywhere within the game and it is worth noting. Now I know it might sound weird me saying that it helps to build the characters but it's something that you can only really understand when you play the game, so if you aren't as uncomfortable by that kind of talk but still just find it a bit weird, give this a game a chance and I think you'll understand what I mean. Maybe you won't and you'll still think it's weird but ultimately I can't really blame you if you do think that way.

One more thing before I wrap up this review, there is a lot of talk about the community surrounding this game. Personally I was only vaguely aware of the reputation the community had, but not necessarily fully aware of it. I just want to say that you should not let this cloud your judgement of this game. As someone who came into only vaguely aware of the community, I had the benefit of not associating the game with its community's terrible reputation, but I promise you this game is amazing and a unique experience that you should try.

Overall, a very eccentric and unique game, that pulls of its weirdness perfectly and uses it to its fullest advantage to make you interested in the setting, story, and characters of the world. 10/10
