worst in the series for sure but still a good game, just so many weird choices and grouping of enemies that makes everything more frustrating and annoying than rewarding. i'd still play it but maaaaan idk

one of my all time favorite games. nothing out there like it. came out in '99 and still looks better than a lot of games that come out today and i'm not exaggerating about that. truly one of the few games i've ever played where i'm fully content just walking around and clicking on everything. and don't get me started on the music.. just trust me and play it, especially if you're into games as an art form/the history of them.

so like obviously the dialogue and story is written by theater kids and sjws and is just insufferable and bad but if you have a podcast or youtube series of videos you enjoy, just throw those on the second monitor, turn the audio down and enjoy. this is obviously not as good as previous borderlands games, but it is borderlands and it is fun.

i've really never enjoyed turn-based but this is just so different.. the scope of possibilities is bonkers and i'm just sayin' if you're wearing similar sized shoes, give this one a chance. one of the best games i've ever played for sure.

so sick, all i gotta say, if you like point and click games from when you were a kid i'm assuming you probably didn't play this as a kid so it'll feel old and brand new at the same time. good times. awful game :)

Early Access Review
i love vampire survivors and i love games that do a good job replicating the nuances of classic pc style graphics. so if you love those things, you'll love this game too.

third time buying this game now. maybe i'm crazy, or maybe this game's just that good. probably both.. play this game's all i'm sayin! the numbskulls @ activision took the people responsible for making this game, scrapped all future tony projects and forced them to make diablo 4, which is such a sad ending but this is the closest to new tony that plays just like the originals that we're ever gonna get, truss me these games mean a lot to me

great game, but this one's a bit of a mixed bag in my opinion. it's obviously the prequel to RE1, so if you played that and you're comfortable with the tank/fixed camera gameplay, and just want to put more pieces of the absurd story together, you'll probably enjoy zero. the music's great, the set pieces and the architecture all look wonderful, the corny poorly translated voice acting's still present, you name it and it's still there. the big difference lies in the premise of the game, which has you playing as two characters at the same time. i'm playing these games with my girlfriend, and logically you would think "oh great so you can tag-team this with someone!" but that's far from the case, because you're constantly switching between both of the protagonists with the Y button, and having to sift through menus either trading items between your inventories, or telling them to follow you/stay in one place. while this didn't end up being as annoying as i expected after reading other reviews, it did often feel like resident evil: menu, and ended up causing a lot of backtracking/confusion that wouldn't have happened if this concept was either a co-op feature or scrapped altogether. there was a point where shan and i literally downloaded a trainer to spawn in specific items. which yea we did cheat and i don't feel the best about that, but we just got to a point where we would've had to either restart the whole game or backtrack around 2-3 hours of work, which didn't feel worth especially after making one minor mistake that wouldn't have happened without this archaic gameplay style present. with that said, it's not like this game's bad. we still really enjoyed it, and it's definitely worth your time if you're working through this series. there's just a decent amount of frustration at times. i just know that i don't have to do tank gameplay anymore (at least with the rest of the games on steam) and that feels good. 0/10 worst game i've ever played

great game, definitely a relic considering the tank gameplay and the fixed camera but i had such a great time. voice acting is horrible too and same with the constant grammar mistakes in the journals you pick up (due to english translation i'm assuming) but in my opinion the game wouldn't be the same without it. the first part of the game was mad confusing and as much as i didn't want to read a guide i had to fold and just do it. i wish i didn't but the complicated part is that i played chris, who only has 6 inventory slots and no option to drop items. so you kind of have to hope that the items you're picking up are the right ones to progress the story, which 99% they're not. but after getting out of the mansion, the rest of the game was mostly done without a guide. i can get why folks might not enjoy this, or might give up really quick, but if you gotta cheat just a little bit i wouldn't judge ya, and i'd recommend you'd play this. my girlfriend and i are trying to play through the whole series, and admittedly i don't think i would've beaten the game without her watching, but i read some negative reviews that gave up because of how archaic this game is and i get it but also if you have a girlfriend or a homie who's cool w/ backseat gaming i'd say just get through it and enjoy it for what it is. while you're playing just imagine you're playing the original psx version which is somehow 10x as sloppy. but also video games are a massive waste of time and we should all be spending this time bossing up and getting $$$ but alas here i am spending this time writing said review for said archaic game. next on our list is the prequel resident evil 0 which is apparently 20x more archaic, so pray for me and my gf to not kill ourselves from the pain. just kidding. review over. B/5

i'm glad i don't have time to sink into this game anymore but i also kinda wish i did cause it's really good. but i just logged back in after like 5 months of not playing and i forgot how everything works, so if you're in a similar boat probably don't play this but otherwise, great game. felt like a spiritual successor to playing runescape as a kid, at least to me.
