First off, Carrion isn't a bad game necessarily. The idea is great and I appreciate that they tried to make something unique.

However...

In the beginning its fun to chase people who are helpless against a highly intellectual and bloodthirsty monster. But after a couple feasts, it gets boring, since they don't really even try to escape. They go sit in a corner and shout. Someone pointed out that real voice acting could've made this better with unique lines that those soon to be ripped apart would say out loud, and i agree with that opinion.

Then the game introduces a few enemies who are equipped to fight back. But they too are easy to kill. I cant remember the exact amount of different enemies, but there are like maybe 5 of them, and usually they don't require you to change your playstyle (except for a few rooms).

Ok, so the enemies are too easy and get boring fast. But what about other aspects besides the combat? One of the biggest complaints have, and rightfully so, been the lack of a map or some sort of navigation (You have an ability which lets you see kinda in what direction you are supposed to go, but no one uses that, cause it doesn't help you in anyway when backtracking). The game loves to throw you through a oneway hole, and now you are stuck in a new place and once you get back to where you previously were, you have no clue where anything was, cause its a labyrinth with oneway pipes and doorways that go into every direction.

Ok, so the level design is kinda bad. What about some other aspects? I get that you are supposed to be a terrifying monster that surpass humans in every way possible. But its just not fun to be an malformed blob with tentacles and mouths everywhere. We as humans are obviously drawn more to things that look like us or things we have seen before. Its hard to make an formless blob raise any type of significance for us. Cant think of anyone playing this and thinking to themselves "Yeeeeehaaaaaawww Im a giant red pile of goo that only want to kill and grow out to be a bigger pile of goo!! Wooooooo!!!"

Ok, so the character you are controlling, isn't interesting enough. But what about...

- The game is 5 hours long if you get all achievements and costs 20 euros. I'll let you decide if that's fair. (Keep in mind that its not really a mind-blowing 5 hours of your life, more so a chore with fun times to be had but way more frustration.)
- Pretty much no story. Now this isn't required to have a great and fun game. But you controlling a monster that kills with no incentive but to grow just for the sake of it tries to get free to kill all of humanity. It don't make me interested to play that character. It needs to have something to latch onto. Now only psychopaths can find this character interesting. Its just so empty of a character i can't even express fully my boredom of it.
- You are supposed to be an all capable super organism, yet controlling it can be clunky, and instead of going where ever you intended to go, you end up sliding down a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pipe that you have no way of going back, and need to detour to get back. Only for it to happen accidentally again. Same thing happens with exploding traps which you know are there and try to evade, but the movement don't let you do that.

Finally,

I have been quite harsh on the game. I don't hate it. It has an interesting approach that don't just work. With refinement this can become something much better. I hope we will see more of the reverse horror genre, but with all the feedback in mind that people have brought.
