We tried to create a fairplay rule-system so there is no offline raid allowed, no killing of passive animals. We invest in trustment, not in control by using orp or anything else. Our admins are friendly helpful players, don´t using admin abuse while playing with you!

What is different about Grounded


Grounded is a No-Fly server meaning you are unable to tame and ride flying creatures. Now the land is hard, the dinos a real threat. By removing the ability to fly we have changed the game in an exciting and challenging way. Now going to collect metal or other resources is a mission with real danger. Instead of a short flight there and back we need to plan ahead and take pack animals with guards. Now walls are important again. Want to go scout another tribe? The you will need a fast land animal and a bit of luck.

No-Flying has changed the game.

Build Epic Bases

On Grounded we have a number of mods for the arkhitecturally inspired player. If you want to build something other than the classic box base then we have the tools, build a castle with the some of the classic castle style mods. Maybe a Victorian era Steampunk fortress, or a modern glass and steel sky scraper with several mods that add modern style structures.

Rates

We run two sets of rates on the Grounded server, weekday and weekend rates. Weekdays we run enhanced rates, 4x gather and harvesting rates, 4x XP rates and 6x tame rates. Then on Friday afternoon at 4pm NZ Time (*3am UTC Time*) we increase the rates for the weekend.

Players

On Grounded the XP required per level is the same as vanilla servers up to level 45. After that we run a smoother curve through to level 100 and you will get there with 300,000 less XP than is required on a vanilla server. Players max out at level 200 on Grounded.

From level 30 onwards players earn more engram points than on vanilla servers, so that at level 60 you will have an extra 94 engram points. At level 100 players have an earned over 1000 more engram points than they would on a vanilla server. We do this because with all the mods there are many more things to spend the points on.

Dinos

Dinos on Grounded are not the typical Ark dinos, some are a bit smaller, a bit weaker while others are bigger, stronger, and too stubborn to be tamed by players. And of course everything in between (including SE dinos). Take the humble Raptor as an example, smaller juvenile Raptors can be found on beaches, while their older siblings roam the grasslands along with the larger, untamable red belly Raptors that are also found in the mountains. Some of the more stubborn untameable dinos might be up to level 600 or even higher.

Supply Drops

Supply drops have been changed, they include many useful items, and many items that are not craftable by the players, weapons, armour and some tools as well as items from the scorched earth DLC (you do not need the DLC for these to work). They are also restricted to specific levels so that high level players can't open crates designed for the lower level players.

The easiest way to get started is to pre-install all the mods via steam (simple one click instructions are on the web site or from the steam collection http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=758449487) and then connect. Loading all the Mods can take a few minutes, unfortunately the Ark client does not give any visual feedback that this is working and some people might think it has crashed. It hasn't. Be patient and expect it to take several minutes to load up. Make a coffee while you wait :)

The server automatically checks for mod updates every 30 minutes and if required will restart and install the updates. This means players will never need to wait more than 30 minutes for a mod version mismatch to be sorted out and they can connect again.

PVP is on 24/7, but play it more like RPPVP, be friendly dont grief, cheat, use exploids, kill fresh spawns, just be a good friendly pvp gamer (the do exist, you know), take what you need and dont destroy all, and let the player rebuild, give them time (unwritten/unspoken rule, is 3days), let them get back on the feet.

It's meant to be a fun, casual and cool pvp server, with a good and friendly community, not a kindergarden, keep it cool guys ;)
