Q. Why can't bots walk on small grids?
  • A. Small grid pathing is a LOT harder to manage than large grid pathing. As such, I opted to not try and workout small grid pathfinding. Bots WILL sit in small grid seats when their owner does (like when you get in your car / ship / etc) and will be placed somewhere outside the vehicle's bounding box when you get leave the seat.

Q. Will they ever pilot ships?
  • A. Never say never, but really - flying a ship has nothing to do with there being a bot in the seat. Scripts can easily fake this behavior :)

Q. Will bots be able to use WC hand weapons?
  • A. Maybe. The problem with WC hand weapons is they are notional (phantom magic) - bots require a physical item to be placed in their inventory that they can actually hold. If anyone wants to make a mod that marries physical weapon items with WC functionality, let me know :)

Q. Why do I get the "Capacitors charging" message?
  • A. This message means that the mod is still initializing. The mod typically only takes a few seconds to complete the required setup for spawning bots, but can take up to a minute or so after load. This is also RE-done anytime a player connects to a server. If it's taking longer than a minute then something has probably gone wrong - check the log and let me know! Currently, it appears Torch doesn't like how I'm handling bots in the background.

Q. Can Repair Bots build projected blueprints?
  • A. No, not currently. They may in a future update, though.

Q. What is the hunting range of the enemy bots?
  • A. 300m. If you move further than that away from them, they will revert to wandering until they are despawned.

Q. How long do enemy bots stick around for?
  • A. They will remain active for 15000 ticks (approx 4m 10s) from the last time they attacked or were attacked.

Just a heads up for folks, the "bot spanwer" is just named "spawner" in the block list.

Where in the config file can I change the limit for companion Bots?

My config file either states 16 or 32 Bots are the limit, but ingame I get an error message "you already have 2 companion bots"

so either im in the wrong config file or cant find the correct line for it

You want the Admin Mod Menu for that. ALT + F10, top left of screen.

The config file, however, is in the Saves/World/Storage/AiEnabled folder
