no weapon visuals or apparent damage when firing
I have discovered a reproducible bug.

Both forms of the scattershot guns do not function in survival on dedicated servers. They function just fine in creative, and in non-dedicated servers.

On survival dedicated servers they consume ammo without making any noise, projectile, or damage.
