If the original author requests it, I will remove this update.

Fix for missing size options tab: (a bug with XML Extensions)
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3346589753
Place as close to the bottom of your mod list as possible.
This moves them from the broken tab to inline - unfortunately before the main set of options, but hey, better than nothing.

Removing unused settings in XML Extensions is a good idea if you are having issues as well.

Please see original mod page for details.

There have been some questions around this mod and performance issues - especially focused around the transparency feature. If anyone would like to weigh in with their experiences (or take Dubs Analyzer to it - I have, but I'm not the most experienced with it), I'd appreciate it.

Yes, there can be flickering/masking sometimes when trees overlap. Not sure how to or if it can be fixed.

Incompatibilities:

ReGrowth: ReTextures

From the original mod page, any mod that changes texture paths is likely to be problematic, and my testing bears this out. I am looking at how to possibly mitigate this, but it's not simple.

Other notes:

Pawns being drawn over the top of trees: If you have Performance Fish installed: Go into Rimworld, Options > Mod Options > Performance Fish. Scroll a little past halfway down the options until you find one called "PrintPlane". Uncheck it, close the window, close Rimworld, and it should be fixed the next time you load your game. (thanks estrogenesys)

Original mod notes (1.4):

The spiritual successor to "Comigo's Majestic Trees", Majestic Foilage, aims to satisy all that it's predecessor did and more. Expanding it's span to new trees and flora while giving the user more options to customize their experience.

Majestic Foliage provides a way to resize and see through many if not all vanilla foliage.

You might wanna do the "Original description:" thing, because I was dumb and didn't know you had to activate them ingame until I followed the link to the original, haha. For those who scratch their head: After installing the mod, get ingame and click the + next to mod settings. There you'll find options for which textures to prioritize. Set what you want, restart game, and you're good.

The idea for 1.6 is to completely rewrite this, improving that code and removing the XML Extensions requirement. Big project though.

Hello, do you think it would be possible to release a version without transparency one day to have better performance? (even by disabling transparency the code apparently affects performance)

No worries, I did find an add on but I’m having issues getting it to work. I reached out to them letting them know. Hoping they will get back to me soon.

I believe someone made an addon for it, apologies, I am not at my PC.

How can I get this to work with gulden biome?

Thanks for that info on Performance Fish; I don't have the issue myself but I will note it above.

Re: settings .... as you've experienced, there seems to be some inconsistencies, I've experienced them at times as well ... I wish I could advise you, I generally do what you've done.

Majestic Foilage uses XML Extensions, which I'm less and less happy with - it's unmaintained, there are already known issues, etc. My tentative plan is to rewrite (!) this entire mod without XML Extensions (improving the performance as well, there is some concern around the current transparency code) for 1.6. I appreciate your patience.

Also: when i load my save, my trees are "normal". Every time i play I have to go into XML Extensions, and all I need to do is open the Majestic Foliage settings. then i reload my save and the trees are Majestic again. I have tried this with zero other mods but this one and it's dependencies and it still happens. Is there a setting i need to tweak somewhere?

@Flamangos After a lot of experimenting, I managed to fix the issue of my pawns being drawn over the top of trees. If you have Performance Fish installed: Go into Rimworld, Options > Mod Options > Performance Fish. Scroll a little past halfway down the options until you find one called "PrintPlane". Uncheck it, close the window, close Rimworld, and it should be fixed the next time you load your game.

@Flamangos I'm having that issue as well. Seemed to stop when I removed Performance Fish from my mod list. I prefer to use Performance Fish so I'm trying to see what settings in it may be responsible. i could also be barking up the wrong tree
