[WOTC] Clean Soldier Generation

Description
This mod makes it so soldiers' randomly generated appearance does not include any of the mod-added body parts. In other words, soldiers with random appearance will look like you have no cosmetic mods installed.

You can still use any body parts when customizing the characters yourself, the mod only affects the initial appearance of randomly generated soldiers. No effect on Character Pool soldiers.

The mod works by adding a filter to randomly generated soldiers. By default, the filter allows only body parts from the base game and official DLCs, but more body parts can be added to the list if necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

X2 WOTC Community Highlander v1.22 or higher is required.

COMPATIBILITY

Unrestricted Customization - Wotc (and its Redux version) prevent Clean Soldier Generation from working reliably. It still has some effect, and you probably can use them together without major issues.

This mod no longer contains Mod Class Overrides and should be compatible with everything else.

This mod will intentionally have no effect on the appearance of units generated by mod-added XGCharacterGenerator classes, as presumably they would want to use mod-added cosmetic body parts.

CONFIGURATION

The whitelist is located in:
..\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1707030670\Config\XComSoldierGeneration.ini

All of the official DLCs are whitelisted by default.

Mod is overwriting customization of character pool soldiers.

Alright, thanks for quick answer.

Afaik AOTI messes with soldier appearance generation, so probably nothing you can do here.

The mod worked fine for many months, now it randomly started to generate soldiers with custom body parts from newely added mods, mainly Armours of the Imperium (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1562717298) and Officio Assassinorum (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1943755557) . Any idea of fixing it?

hello, is there a way to make it a blacklist instead of a whitelist?
Iridar  [author] Dec 2, 2024 @ 12:13am
This mod has no effect on that.

How would this mod handle other mods such as Modular X-COM Hero Suits and [WOTC] Claus Hero Cosmetics Compendium? I noticed when equipping the any of the Resistance Armor or Warden armor the legs, arms and shoulders would default to pieces used by those mods instead of the standard vanilla torso, arms and legs.

Hey I assumed that those TemplateNames in XComSoldierGeneration.ini decide what could be choosed when generating soldiers, such as their voice like 'MaleVoice1_English_US'? Does it mean, if I subscribe lots of voice mod, they can't be generated according to the soldiers' nation?

Thanks, yeah I always delete the 2k launcher its like malware when trying to play games that require it, came back to try vanilla xcom 2 without any mods a while back (also without AML) and instantly crashed...
