one thing i noticed is after they run out of fuel they break, is there a way to get them to automatically be set to be rebuilt?
hauvega  [autor] 14 sept. 2021 la 15:45
@thundercraft added darklight torches to the mod.
Meownaa 4 sept. 2021 la 19:26
Glad to hear it. Good luck with the cleanup, take care!
hauvega  [autor] 4 sept. 2021 la 15:58
I just got internet back. Survived it without any real issues except for the unknowns. I will look at those other items in the coming weeks. Still have so much cleanup to do along with taking care of dad.
Meownaa 4 sept. 2021 la 10:53
@hauvega I know it's still going, but how are you doing?
Also glad you're ok @Nigrum mortis. Hope you didn't lose something irreplaceable, apart from you sense of safety.
vonMort 30 aug. 2021 la 6:10
Na you will survive this. My whole house was underwater in the german floods in july. I was forced onto the roof and im still here. And so will be you. I wish you the best of luck my man.
hauvega  [autor] 29 aug. 2021 la 5:46
I will consider it. But I am going to be dealing with hurricane Ida and will not know how things are going to turn out. This may be my last message.

Have you considered making wall-hanging versions of the Darklight Torch and Fungal Darklight Torch that were introduced in RimWorld 1.3? These have a particular glow: The specific color of light does not give mood debuffs for those of the Darkness Meme in the Ideology DLC. (The Fungal Darklight Torch is made and refueled with Raw fungus instead of Wood.)
Thundercraft 28 aug. 2021 la 21:07
@Waflix
This (non-Easy) version still allows the "Early Wall torch" to be placed on all walls, much like the other version. It's just the Medieval "Wall Torch" and the later "Electric wall torch" that are slightly more restrictive. And, IMO, that is more immersive. It makes sense that primitive wood torches would be placed on crude cave walls, whereas electric torches and Medieval-era Gothic iron torch sconces should only ever be placed on better-quality walls.

Also, I'd point out that the "Easy version" says that it quote, "Works only with Base game walls". To me, this suggests that it won't work with new walls added by mods. (Though, while it does not say, I have to wonder if this version of the mod is any better with new, modded walls.)
Feeeweeegege 7 mai 2021 la 9:04
Looks like the Easy version is the same except it works on all walls. Why would I want the non-Easy version?
GodlyForever059 11 apr. 2021 la 21:32
@hauvega lots of mods and using the debug menu, I just noticed I get a strange "incompatible with ." Message and can't find the reason. Accord to another mod author its because I don't have the incompatible mod installed so I don't need to worry about it.
hauvega  [autor] 28 mart. 2021 la 9:04
What are you testing and how?
GodlyForever059 26 mart. 2021 la 23:09
the "." is not an example* i meant.
GodlyForever059 26 mart. 2021 la 23:09
going to do some testing around but i've got a "incompatible with ." not "." an example, that's the error i'm getting I have over 40 full pages of mods so i'll let you know when i run into an error while using these amazing torches
hauvega  [autor] 24 febr. 2021 la 4:42
i will look at it
TheErwOo 23 febr. 2021 la 10:17
Great Mod, exactly what I was looking for!

If you have the time, could you look into toggling the torches from being refueled? For campfires and torch light this functionality is already present. Alternatively, could you give me pointers where I would change this myself?

Thank you again, hope you have a great day.
Tyrant 22 ian. 2021 la 5:46
Thanks for the Proxy Heat compatibility!
hauvega  [autor] 19 ian. 2021 la 6:14
i will look into it
Lotus Elise 19 ian. 2021 la 1:32
Can you make your mod compatible with Proxy Heat?
hauvega  [autor] 19 sept. 2020 la 9:52
I would have to create a patch to make it work though.
hauvega  [autor] 19 sept. 2020 la 9:51
When you do research it actually tells you the tech level. Lower tech levels take time penalties when for higher level research techs. For example smithing is a medieval tech and a neolithic level colony takes more time to research it. There is a mod out there for the colony to tech level up. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=735268789
Kayedon 19 sept. 2020 la 9:31
Honestly no clue, don't even know how I'd figure that out to tell you. I did see the update moving it to Smithing, I can see it and place it now.
hauvega  [autor] 19 sept. 2020 la 9:29
Is the faction tech level medieval. or really is it stuck at neolithic? I changed it to be hidden by research instead. The tech level system never worked in this game. Tribals can build poker tables but can not build a chess table.
Kayedon 19 sept. 2020 la 9:17
I'm tech-limited to Medieval. The tech requirement of the wall torch is Medieval, per the XML.
hauvega  [autor] 19 sept. 2020 la 5:53
What is the tech level?
hauvega  [autor] 18 sept. 2020 la 11:50
Let me see what is going on.
Kayedon 18 sept. 2020 la 11:46
I don't seem to be able to do anything with the medieval level Wall Torch. I can place the early wall torch no problem, but there isn't a wall torch in my architect menu, nor does it show up under any research project that I can find that hasn't already been researched... thoughts?

hello, can't you make the wood fueled torch refuable instead of vanishing.
Morgan Freedman 6 iul. 2020 la 12:11
Thanks so much
hauvega  [autor] 5 iul. 2020 la 23:58
Rimworld Steam workshop mods are 9~10 numbers. This one's id=1936690958.
Morgan Freedman 5 iul. 2020 la 20:41
What is the mod ID for this that is encoded in the steamapps/content folder? Its a 6 digit number i think.
Suslivan (SUS24/7)🥠 11 iun. 2020 la 15:18
well im advancing but not straight up to get far im trying lo research early things before going to next time and make tribal things and slowly advance to houses castles kings act.
hauvega  [autor] 11 iun. 2020 la 14:38
So you are playing all neolithic tech then? Not advanced to medieval then to get the next tier of torches? But I am working on a chemfueled version and gold versions of the wood and chemfueled for royalty dlc.
Suslivan (SUS24/7)🥠 11 iun. 2020 la 10:34
thnks just wanted to be sure its sometimes hard to catch it at the time it tuns out when playing tribal with village filled with them
hauvega  [autor] 11 iun. 2020 la 10:27
the early ones burn out. Can be refilled if caught early enough.
Suslivan (SUS24/7)🥠 11 iun. 2020 la 7:27
im using the early wall torches and some of them just dissapear for some reason is it because they burned out or is it a bug... (they are inside so its not caused by rain)
hauvega  [autor] 3 mart. 2020 la 14:48
My race mod.
Mistletoe The Bard 2 ian. 2020 la 2:17
@hauvega Thanks! That's enough for me, since I will be using easy version mainly in my "easy" playthrough!
hauvega  [autor] 1 ian. 2020 la 22:56
I removed the explosive comp in the easy version. I still have to solve an issue for a certain condition.
Mistletoe The Bard 1 ian. 2020 la 21:32
Just wondering if I can kindly ask you to make "fire when destroyed" togglable in settings or a version without it(also for the "Easy" version). When I use this mod I just use it for building beautiful stuff in a light weight playthrough. I don't really feel like dealing with the fire thingy in those kind of game. If I wanna have a hardcore survival playthough, I will just use normal torches.
Morcrist 24 dec. 2019 la 20:14
Omgosh!

You sir, are a scholar and a gentleman!

Much thanks.

Morcrist 23 dec. 2019 la 23:18
Is there any way to make it so ALL torches can be placed on any wall?

I find it frustrating that the cheapy torches can be put anywhere, but the ones with steel can't.
hauvega  [autor] 21 dec. 2019 la 5:22
Try out the update.
hhoffman4 20 dec. 2019 la 21:24
I really like the concept but I wish they were more like wall lights in that they wouldn’t still eat up a tile of space.
Awiss 14 dec. 2019 la 22:02
nice
